WELCOME TO LAMONT WESLEYAN CHURCH We are so glad you chose to join us. You are welcome here. We know that if you don’t attend church often, you may feel out of place or unsure about what is going to happen in our services. Allow us to share a few things that might make your time with us a little more comfortable: Relax: You will not be put on the spot or pointed out this morning. We will do everything we can to avoid embarrassing you.
Don’t feel obligated to give: While we do expect our members and regular attenders to support the ministry of the church, we do not expect our guests to. This service is our gift to you.
You’re dressed just right: We care about you, not what you wear. Whatever you are wearing is perfectly appropriate.
Don’t worry about when to stand, sit or kneel: We do stand at times during the service. The Pastor or Worship Leader will direct the congregation to stand or sit. You won’t have to guess.
Take advantage of our children’s ministries: We have Nurseries at both of our locations that are open 15 minutes before the service begins. During our worship services on Sunday mornings, we have several children’s church opportunities (we are sorry, but there is no children’s church in Burling-ton during the evening service). In Lamont, we have Wiggle Worms (for children aged 3-K) and The God Followers (for children grades 1-5). In Burlington, we have Little Kidz Church (for children aged 3-K) and Big Kidz Church (for children grades 1-5). We dismiss the children to children’s church activities right before the sermon. (Note: Our Lamont children’s church groups do not meet on the first Sunday of each month in order to give the children one day a month to learn to be in a regular worship service with their families. However, 3-4 year olds may visit the Nursery on the last Sunday of the month if they are not happy in the worship service.) We love kids, and if you feel more comfortable keeping your children with you until you get to know us, we invite you to do so.
If you are here for the first time, please fill out a visitor card (available in the entry area) and place it into the offering basket or give it to an usher. Filling it out will help us serve you better in the future.
Questions? Ask one of our greeters if you need any help or information. You can also visit our web-site at www.lamontchurch.com or follow us on Facebook. If you need other information during the week, call the church office and we will do all we can to help, or see one of our pastors after church.
Our house is your house! Please help yourself to complimentary coffee. We also have a pop ma-chine in the kitchen in Lamont as well as a refrigerator full of pop in the downstairs refrigerator at the Burlington location. The Lamont pop machine proceeds benefit our youth ministries, and sales (honor system) of the Burlington drinks benefits the local American Heritage Girls troop.
Thank you again for being here today. Please enjoy the service.
