Know Your Jeans

What’s your style? Skinny The fashionista’s favourite. Not only does it look sexy and smart but always ensures you feel your most fashionable. The skinny is perfect with both boots and heels; making it one of the most versatile jean shapes. Straight The ultimate leg lengtheners, straight jeans have a wonderfully androgynous appeal. They look sexy without being too sexy, and they can be worn casually without being too casual. Yes straight jeans are a great look, particularly if you’re scared of skinnies and bored of bootcuts.

Bootcut The original jean; the bootcut has been loved and adored by cowboys and fashionistas alike for decades. Whilst other jean styles may fall in and out of fashion, the bootcut always remains a classic.

Flare

Flared jeans are back, dominating the spring

catwalks flares are the jean and trouser shape of the

season. They’re super flattering and surprisingly

easy to wear so we tip flares to be the new ‘It’ shape.

Boyfriend

Still a fairly new jean style, the boyfriend is the

marmite of the denim world. You either love these

or hate them completely. It’s definitely worth trying

a pair as you may surprise yourself, die-hard skinny

fans have been known to dabble with the boyfriend

shape.

Love Your Shoes

The perfect pair of shoes can be... ...both the finishing touch on an outfit as well as the statement piece. While you’re out stocking up on skinny jeans and notebooks, make sure to treat yourself to a new pair of shoes.

Pointed Toe Styles The pointed toe elongates the entire leg, creating the illusion of longer and leaner limbs. It’s a bonus that this trend has started to appear on flats, too. If you’re not one to totter around in heels all day, you can now get an elongated appearance even without adding extra inches.

Glitter and Shine Accents Glittery metallic shades always shine in autumn. With the leaves changing colours and temperatures dropping, we need something to perk up the mood and shiny, glittery accents perfectly fit the bill. To get the most wear out of this trend, don’t feel pressured to buy the glittery 5-inch heels you can only wear for maybe an hour. Pick up some flats or booties with a shiny or glittery accent. You’ll have a wearable item that still sets you apart from the rest.

Midwestern Flair

This trend includes the everlasting autumn trend: the

perfect pair of riding boots. Equestrian-style boots are

always oh so chic.

Don’t be afraid to pick a quality pair to invest in,

they’ll last many seasons. In addition, more casual

styles are in this season too. Suede boots are

everywhere, for more flair pick a pair with fringe

details.

...But only a few have the perfect teeth, white and

glistening.

Do you know why?

First and foremost, most of us disregard

maintenance of our teeth. They may be little, but

they should be taken care of.

So how do we keep our teeth white, clean

and sparkling?

Basically, we just need to take care of them by doing

the following 10 Tips

1.Brush our teeth before we go to sleep and every time we wake up. 2.Don’t brush your teeth too hard! It will make your teeth thinner, weaker.

3.Brushing is good, but remember to brush

lightly. Too much may make your teeth sensitive.

4.Avoid too many sweets, not only kids face tooth decay. 5.Avoid smoking, smoking will kill our teeth. 6.Use of mouthwash other than brushing our teeth is also great, it keeps bacteria away. 7.Love your teeth, don’t abuse them! 8.Drink milk and drinks with calcium.

Calcium does not only help make the bone

strong but keeps our teeth strong as well.

9.Every three months, it’s best you change your tooth brush. 10.Choose a good quality tooth brush.

Go for a dental assessment regularly and prevent tooth decay and more severe problems from arising. So call us today to make your appointment for your oral health assessment 020 34682080

A classmate of mine is so smart, he knows

the answer to every question the teacher

asks.

He raises his hand so often in class that his

underarms are sunburned.

Teacher: What time do you get up in the

morning ?

About an hour and a half after I arrived at school

Mother: How do you like your new

teacher ?

Son: I don't. She told me to sit up front for the

present and then she didn't give me one!

We really appreciate it!

“When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge

such a moment, there is no point in pretending

2013 Overview for all Virgos.

Particularly from February to June, you are likely to enjoy some form of promotion, positive exposure, or career recognition, dear Virgo. You are learning to "own" what you do in 2013, and feeling more comfortable in a position of authority. You are also communicating with more authority, or honing your knowledge in a particular trade or area of knowledge/expertise. However, some people in your life might complain that you are not as available for idle chit-chat during this time. You are taking more pride in your home and family. The second half of the year brings a new focus, and it's a time when your social life increases. Through groups or friends, you might seek a sense of belonging and comfort, and you're likely to find it! This is also a time for new and exciting ideas for future growth and happiness. You are entertaining dreams of where you'd like to go with your life, and while it was your professional life that you were more interested in in the first half of 2013, you are more concerned with personal happiness, ideals, and long-term goals in the second half. There can be a cause that you work towards enthusiastically, possibly related to family. Business income is likely to be strong.

Continued...

However, money from another source, possibly a partner, ex-

partner, or lender may be unreliable this year, so there can be

some worries about money.

Love relationships might be complicated at times, as you

explore alternative options, but overall, they're likely to be

considerably more stable this year. For some of you, the

second half of the year can involve a friendship morphing into

something more, but for most of you, patience and a sense of

peace with what you have or what you want is with you now.

Single Virgos are not as anxious, preferring to wait for

something that truly feels right, rather than settle for

something that doesn't, and coupled Virgos feel more content

this year.

Teaming up with others can figure strongly in 2013, and can

bring some real benefits to your life. You are working harder

this year at communicating more effectively and building your

level of expertise.

You are dissatisfied with sloppy learning or holes in your

thinking and want to refine your skills and knowledge. You

might meet people who inspire you and motivate you to be the

best you can be, simply because they see the best in you.

5 Fashion Tips For The Over 50s

1. Find Out What Famous Women Over 50 are Wearing Are there any famous women who you really like their style?

Some examples of fashionable women are Diane Sawyer, Barbara Walters, Susan Sarandon, Diane Keaton, Jaclyn Smith, Candice Bergen, Raquel Welch, and Sophia Loren.

What are they wearing, what are their accessories, how do they wear their hair and makeup? Do you see a pattern to what clothes, shoes, and accessories you like and dislike?

2. Keep Patterns to a Minimum It’s best to focus on single colours like black, white, navy, and khaki and then pairing those colours with some fashionable pattern. 3. Make Sure Your Bra Fits Well A proper fitting bra can make a big difference on how you look and feel.

Go to a department store in your area to see if they offer a bra fitting service.

4. The New Age of Denim If you want to look fashion-forward and shave a few years off your looks, you need to take another look at denim.

Denim is not what it used to be 20 or 30 years ago. Today's denim includes more advanced features as spandex and lycra to allow more give and take and to help with any problem areas.

5. Have Fun with Accessories One budget-friendly way to add a little style to your wardrobe is a trendy piece of jewellery.

Take a look at some magazines to get some ideas. Another way to add a little splash of colour to your wardrobe is using scarves.

Memory Board DIY With the

Grandchildren

Memory boards are such a great way for

your grandchildren to display their drawings.

They can put pictures and postcards on it,

and even put up little things they have

collected throughout the summer.

In a few easy steps that include a corkboard,

some acrylic paint, and rubber bands, your

grandchildren will have created their very

own memory station where they can enjoy all

of the new memories they make.

You can make a bulletin board that won't

damage favourite pictures since it doesn't

require drawing pins.

Paint with you favourite coloured acrylic

paint, don’t forget to make sure the rubber

bands go over and under one another at

intervals.

Stretch extra-large coloured rubber bands

lengthwise and width wise over a 1-foot-

square piece of corkboard, which you have

already painted.

Thread the pictures/memories behind the

rubber bands, holding them securely in place!

Even if you've managed to avoid gum disease until

now, it is especially important to practice a meticulous

oral care routine as you age.

Receding gum tissue affects a large percentage of older

people. This condition exposes the roots of teeth and

makes them more vulnerable to decay and periodontal

infection.

To keep your teeth for a lifetime, you must remove the plaque from your teeth and gums every day with proper brushing and flossing. Regular dental visits are also important. Daily cleaning will help keep calculus formation to a minimum, but it won't completely prevent it. A professional cleaning at least twice a year is necessary to remove calculus from places your toothbrush and floss may have missed.

If you have dexterity problems or a physical disability, you may find it difficult to use your toothbrush or dental floss. Your dentist or hygienist can suggest options such as an electric toothbrush or floss holder or a toothbrush with a larger handle.

September Gardening Tips

Buy spring bulbs for next year. Most bulbs, including daffodils, hyacinths, lilies and small bulbs are best planted this month or in early October. Tulips are better planted towards the end of October

Give evergreen hedges a final trim to ensure they are neat for the winter

Now's the time to go around your garden collecting seeds from perennials and annuals. Collect seed heads in paper bags and leave them in a warm place to dry for a few days, before cleaning and storing in small envelopes. Some gardens that open to the public offer see-collecting days – a great way to find something unusual. Most seeds are best sown in spring

Sweet pea lovers may find that sowing seed in autumn produces stronger plants. Do Not Soak The Seeds as they are liable to Rot. Use Seed and Potting Compost and sow the seeds in root trainers, sweet peas tubes, pots or trays. It has been found that dark coloured seeds germinate well in fairly damp compost, but pale seed require compost that is only just moist. Cover the containers with glass or put them in a propagator and keep at around 15 C (59 F).

When the seedlings appear transfer them to a cold frame. Pinch out the growing tips when the plants are about 10 cm (4 inches) high.

“Excellent treatment. Tried the “Wand” amazing only localised anaesthetic with no facial droop. Clean,

efficient, caring and on time. Many thanks” – Janice

“I have noticed a huge difference in the service & general organisation. Brightside is always a pleasure to

visit. Not many people say this when visiting their dentist”

“I Cannot Believe The Transformation Of My Teeth”

They are so white and bright, did not think it was possible but you have achieved the unachievable. The treatment I received today was excellent. I had my teeth cleaned and polished. I had an injection to the left hand side of my mouth as my teeth on this side needed a deep cleanse. I can honestly say I felt no pain whatsoever. Esther you really put me at ease and I must say you are a real perfectionist. I will tell my husband and sister to have their teeth done now. Many thanks too for your prompt attention. It is always nice not to be kept waiting. Many thanks. Christina Hannon, Whetstone

“His Gentle Manner And Guidance Helped Put Me At Ease”

I am one of those nervous patients. I kept putting off going to the dentist until the pain in my teeth be-came unbearable. I needed an extraction. From the moment I stepped inside the surgery I felt comfort-able and fairly relaxed. Once in the dentist’s chair I explained to the surgeon my life long fear of dentists. His gentle manner and guidance helped put me at ease. I hardly felt the three injections and before I knew it my tooth had been extracted. I was absolutely stunned. Money well spent I would say. Don’t put off coming to Brightside if you feel any pain in your teeth. The longer you leave it the more your teeth will deteriorate thus requiring more work. Anita Mascarenhas, London

“Top Quality Service I Have Received”

Just wanted to say thanks for the top quality service I have received at this practice over the past 2 years. Having relatively weak teeth I have had numerous treatments (from Dr Shah and Dr Hassan) and dental hygienist appointments (with Miss Kearney) and my teeth have never been better. All of the staff have been exceptionally friendly and the treatment (including root canal) painless. Fur-thermore I have received first class Preventive treatment advice that shows the high level of commit-ment your staff have to clients care. Matthew R. London
