Chairman’s Easter Update
Dear Members
It has been 5 months since becoming Chairman and hard to believe
that I am almost half way through my term. Where has that time
gone?
We have attended the Burns and the Dinner Dance rallies so far this
year and look forward to attending many more.
This year is the 60th anniversary of the Devon and Cornwall Centre
and to mark this milestone, we are hosting a Celebration Rally at
Mount Edgcumbe Country Park over the first May bank holiday. This
will be a fantastic event in a beautiful setting on the Rame peninsula
with access to great walks, a historic house and superb views of the
river Tamar and Plymouth sound. There is a packed programme for
the event with professional entertainment , representing a great
value weekend for all.
As Easter approaches, the rally season gets going with a great
selection of rallies for you to choose from. We have several Easter
rallies across the region. These are closely followed by the Family
Fun Weekend at Stoke Gabriel, the 60th Celebration Rally and, of
course, in May I, and several other Centre and family members, are
taking part in a tandem skydive at Dunkeswell on 21st May in aid of
our chosen charity Children’s Liver Disease Foundation. If anyone
would like to come and support us, there is a rally running at Escot
for this event.
All that remains is to ask that you enjoy your Easter break, enjoy
the 2016 rally programme and thank you for your continued support.
Martin & Catherine EASTER GREETINGS!
Secretary’s Ramblings at Easter
The weather is turning to Spring, so we are told by the forecasters, but the
snowdrops, daffodils and primroses are also telling us that Spring is nearly
here. Spring equals, for some, the first trip of the year out with the caravan,
when I maybe will get to meet some of you on the Rally Field.
The rally programme, hopefully, has something for everyone but the main
Centre event of the year is the 60th Anniversary rally being held at Mount
Edgecumbe from the 28th April to the 2nd May.
This incorporates the Chairman’s rally and therefore OPEN FORUM will take
place during the weekend. Why not come along and have your say? It is your
opportunity to ask questions of the committee.
Can I also remind you that when you renew your Membership with the
Caravan Club you MUST also renew your membership with the Devon &
Cornwall Centre. This can be done either by post, on line or telephone.
HAPPY EASTER

From the Rally Sec
Happy Easter everybody. Just a few words from me reference the Rally
Book for next year, I am trying to get the book out early again for next
year, so I would appreciate it if anybody wanting to run a rally in 2017
could complete the rally proforma (which can be found on the centre
web site) and send it to me via email as soon as possible but definitely
before the AGM as this is when I hope to start compiling the book
contents. I am then going to return them to the appropriate steward so
that they can double check that I have used the correct information,
dates etc. If proformae don’t reach me by the AGM they may not be
included in the book but will appear on the web page.

Information Desk
Just a few lines to remind you that the Centre has a new website at
www.dandccc.co.uk.
With the new web site the old email addresses for the committee have
changed, they can now be found on the new web site.
The treasurer has asked that when you send her cheques for banking
can you please write the rally number on the rear of the cheques, as this
will make her life a little easier, thank you.
If you are putting on any social events the Centre has an account with
Bookers cash & carry. The Centre card for Bookers can be requested
from either the Chairman, Secretary or the Treasurer to enable you to
buy provisions.
The Family Fun Rally is nearly upon us (8th-10th April); a fun packed
weekend! Spaces still available with electric hookup.
The 60th Anniversary Celebration Rally of the Devon & Cornwall Centre
is taking place from 29th April until 2nd May. This also incorporates the
Chairman's Rally. Live entertainment with a packed programme!
Chairman's Challenge is taking place on 21st May - a 15000 feet tandem
skydive. The 'volunteers' are a combination of Centre members and
Martin's family. The Escot rally is coinciding with this event, so come
along and give them your support.
The Christmas Party rally running in Devon is at a new site this year. It
is taking place at Hillhead Caravan Club Site, Brixham. More details will
follow on the website.
There is a new site for a New Year Rally. More details to follow but this
is a commercial site with easy access and very good facilities. Please
see website for more details.
ENJOY YOUR EASTER RALLYING!
