A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE" by Bud Ozar
Parenting is a lot like the story of the farmer in the Gospel
parable today. All growth is the Lord’s work. We have no
control over the process. In fact the farmer doesn’t even
understand it, for the seed grows even when he sleeps.
As parents we can influence our children ...but nothing we
do can guarantee results.

 Vocation Reflections

of young people. We will reap the harvest when we

ment. If the seed to be of service to the Lord has been
planted in your heart, call Fr. Michael Casey, Director
of Vocations, Archdiocesan Center at St. Thomas Seminary, Tel#

THIS WEEKEND 2nd Collection for Catholic Relief Services
Our parish will take up The Catholic Relief Services Collection (CRSC)

all people here at home and abroad. Please give generously to the CRSC,
and help Jesus in disguise. Learn more about the collection at
www.usccb.org/catholic-relief.

Scripture Study
We will be continuing our Adult Scripture
Study on Thursday evenings at 7 PM at St.
Joan of Arc Parish Center. Our new study will
beEucharist, another offering from the
Threshold Bible Study series."You are invited
to explore the biblical springs of the Eucharist. Through this
exploration, you will enrich your understanding of this sac-
rament and deepen your appreciation of the great gift it is.
Through texts from the Old Testament, the Gospels, and
New Testament letters, you will discover that the Eucharist
unites the prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of our lives as
an offering in union with Christ. Through meditation on
these texts, you will learn to cultivate a Eucharistic life of
prayer and active commitment in the world." Our study will
begin on Thursday, July 26th. Please contact Donna Yatcko,
203.248.6958, by July 8th to register.
Thank you to the Knights of Columbus,
St. Joan of Arc Council #10477, for their
generous donation towards the ongoing
repairs and renovations in the Church.
We truly appreciate their support and
dedication.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY
A father is a man who loves without cost to his
children and tries to raise them to be fully human
creatures with the abilities to make a difference in
our world. Some fathers are successful, some are
not. However, almost all try their best. This Father's Day, let
your dad know that you appreciate all his efforts.

StrengthYour strength in helping me to tell
right from wrong as a great gift.
HonorYou taught me that to honor myself
was a way to honor God who made me.
FaithThanks Dad for having faith in me,
when I was not sure I had faith in myself.
LoveYou loved me even when I did not love myself.
  For that I am grateful.

A Father’s Prayer...

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of my family,
for whom I now pray and upon whom I now ask
You to shower Your blessings.
May I always be ready to spend my life for them.
Bless my children with Your life and presence.
May the example of Your Son be the foundation
upon which their lives are built,
that the Gospel may always be their hope and support.
I ask You, Father, to protect and bless my family.
Watch over it, so that in the strength of Your love
its members may enjoy prosperity,
possess the gift of Your peace and,
always bear witness
to Your glory in the world. ~ Amen
