HappyFebruary…theMonthofLove.Heartssurroundusthismonth.IwonderiftheadvertisersrealizethatforCatholicsheartsremindusoftheSacredHeartofJesuswhoseloveforusleadHimtotheCross.OnlythreeandahalfmoreweeksbeforeAshWednesdayandthebeginningofLent..AllofushaveourownmemoriesofLentandmanyofuscontinuewiththesameritualseveninourcouncils.Thisyearletustaketheopportunitytochangethingsup.LetusunderstandLentfromthepointofviewofourchurch.“ThehighestpointintheChurchyearofprayeristheSacredPaschalTriduumcelebratingthedyingandrisingoftheLordJesus.Weprepareforthisthree-dayperiodduringtheSeasonofLentandprolongitforthegreat50daysoftheEasterSeason.Lenthasadualpurpose.IthelpscatechumensprepareforcelebratingBaptism,Confirmation,andEucharistattheEasterVigilanditinvitesthosewhoarebaptizedthroughpenanceandprayertopreparetorenewtheirbaptismalvowsattheVigil”.OrdotheLiturgicalCalendarofCCCBfor2016-17WhenIreadthatIaskedmyselfIwonderhowmanyofourladiesarefamiliarwithRCIA?TheheadofRCIAinyourparishmaybeagreatguestspeakerforoneofyourmeeting.I
