Who Is Gandhi? Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on October 2 1869 at

Porbandar, Gujarat. His parents are Karamchand Gandhi (Father), Putlibai Gandhi (Mother).

He was most important leader during Indian independence movement when British Ruled India.

Also known as Bapu, Mahatma Gandhi,and Gandhiji

He did high school at Alfred High School, Rajkot, and did his college at Bhavnagar, University College, London (UCL) and got his degree in barrister-at-law

Gandhi played an important role in freedom movement.

Assuming leadership of the Indian National Congress in 1921,

Dandi Salt March in 1930, British to Quit India in 1942 These are some of the important act during

freedom movement which change the history of India in acheiveing independence

Gandhiji's Life Bapu lived a simple life modestly in a self-

sufficient residential community and he undertook long fasts as a means of both self-purification and social protest.

He weared only simple dress made by his own hand which is known as khadi.

He followed ahimsa for his later life and he lives a life like what he wants the world to look like.
