Everyone is invited to our monthly support group: stroke survivors, families, caretakers, and friends. Get practical advice. Gain a sense of control and reduce anxiety. Improve coping skills. The group meets from 12-1 PM on the third Thursday of every month, in Room 304,

Metropolitan’s stroke team has received the Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for 2017, 2018, and 2019 for improving quality of care and patient outcomes for stroke patients. Staff and volunteers shared the spirit of the season by providing full Thanksgiving dinners, including turkeys, trimmings, and desserts to almost 100 patients and their families. The event was sponsored by the Metropolitan Hospital Auxiliary.

Metropolitan, in partnership with Manhattan Borough

President Gale Brewer, will host an opioid overdose education and Narcan training on Friday, December 13, from 12 noon to 2 PM, in the 6th floor auditorium. Attendees will receive free rescue kits and be certified as opioid overdose responder after completing training provided by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

También se basa en fotografías que tomé mientras caminaba por el hospital ".“Al final“, agregó, "el mural es una celebración de la vida de la comunidad diversa de El Barrio y está dedicado a las familias, amigos y héroes que trabajan en Metropolitan".El mural está ubicado en el exterior del hospital, en la esquina de la Segunda Avenida y la calle 97.Los murales comunitarios son provistos por el programa Arts in Medicine en NYC Health + Hospitals, con el apoyo del Laurie M. Brewer, organizará una evento educativo sobre sobredosis de opioides y capacitación de Narcan el viernes 13 de diciembre, de 12 del mediodía a 2 de la tarde, en el auditorio del sexto piso. Los participantes recibirán kits de rescate gratuitos y serán certificados como respondedores de sobredosis de opioides después de completar la capacitación proporcionada por el Departamento de Salud.
