Reflections on the readings In today’s first reading from the Acts
of the Apostles, Peter boldly offers his testimony to the risen
Christ. He shared with the crowds what he himself witnessed: Jesus’ friendship, healing
and forgiveness. Peter proclaims a resurrected life that brings hope. The Christian life
is, indeed, a resurrected life. It is new life, one of truth, inner joy and genuine fulfillment.
God has transformed our lives for all eternity, and that transformation is what it means
to be a Christian. Do you know the resurrected life? Have you genuinely experienced it?
Good stewards have, and in their joy, they are committed, like Peter, to offering their
own witness. It is time to rejoice. Christ the Lord is risen today! Alleluia!
We extend a warm welcome to
all who attend our church!

GREAT BOOKS CHANGE LIVES
Be sure to pick up the new book by Matthew Kelly being

Questions of the Week In the fifty-day “Paschal Springtime” about to
unfold, how will I set aside time both to adore Jesus really present in the
Eucharist and to serve Jesus really present in those in need? As Good
Friday prompts sorrow for Jesus’ death, the liturgical celebration
emphasizes Jesus’ victory. Though I may think, “This is what my sins have
done” as I adore the cross, can I instead think, “This is how much I am
loved!” in light of Jesus’ victory and encouraged by the Jubilee Year of
Mercy? With that love and mercy in mind, how will I show Jesus’ mercy to
someone who has offended me? By opening our Easter celebration with
an empty tomb, disciples who believe, others who disbelieve, and one who
is simply “amazed,” Luke suggests I ask: Which disciple am I? When I
leave tonight’s empty tomb, to whom will I go? What will I “announce?”
When did I last glimpse the face of God’s mercy in my life? Whose life will I
try to brighten this Easter by permitting God’s mercy shine on them
through my compassion?
