Happy Valentine’s Day MONTHLY NEWSLETTER
FEBRUARY 2018 LOVE IS IN THE AIR!. The Adult Day Care Center of Las Vegas (ADCCLV) welcomes February. Valentine’s Day is the heart of the month. February is also Heart Health Month, a great time to commit to a healthy lifestyle, make small changes; that can lead to a lifetime of heart health. Our Center staff shares their heart, spirit, courage and enthusiasm in the love we have for our participants and each other. The Las Vegas Center responds to the important mission of supporting adults and senior citizens in their efforts to remain independent, with dignity in the community. Our Center will continue to offer the fun contemporary activities that our participants enjoy, including: A daily exercise program, Chair Yoga-Tai Chi, Brain Dance, Creative Dance, Organic-Gardening, Brain-Games, Bingo competitions, Arts & Crafts and live entertainment every afternoon. Please join us in this loving spirit as we celebrate the month of FEBRUARY.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM JANUARY
January began with a bang! The New Year’s Celebration was simply marvelous. Our seniors raised their glasses to a healthy and happy New Year. We were wonderfully entertained by: Early Clover. He is well loved by both our seniors and staff. We would like to thank our wonderful kitchen staff for an awesome New Years Lunch. Please don’t miss your opportunity to buy our Senior Art Calendars. They are still on sale for $10 and are quite beautiful. Our Love Art Day was a big hit. Our seniors moved their paint brushes and produced beautiful abstract masterpieces. Our Hug Day was fantastic. Thanks for all the hugs. To cap the month off, a BIG THANK YOU! Many thanks also to Margaret Rampey of Cirque du Soleil, our Creative Dance Teacher. She has taught our senior students to rock the house with smiles, poetry and creative brain dancing. Our seniors danced, laughed, clapped and just grooved to Willie Nelson’s music. Everyone has a good time in our Creative Dance classes. NEW ARRIVALS We are pleased to welcome the new participants who became a
part our Center family in January: Richard J. Clyde M. Samuel W. and Urusla D.
CLOSURES There are no closures in the month of FEBRUARY.
GET PLUGGED IN! There’s a computer lab here at the Center. It is located in the Quiet Room by the arts & crafts department. The software will suit all of your needs with its vast technology.
DID YOU KNOW?An apple a day may keep the cardiologist away. A recent study found that people who ate apples daily for four weeks lowered their levels of oxidized LDL (a type of bad cholesterol that raises your risk of heart attack and stroke by 40%.

Our garden is dormant for the winter. We will replant in the spring.
