PREFACE

This submission is for assessment credit for physical and mechanical work performed on claims

owned by Ontario Quarries Inc. in Parkin Township, District of Sudbury. The claims are the site of a

marble quarry which is currently under advanced exploration l development. Maps showing the site

and location of the work conducted are contained in Appendix B.

I hereby certify that I was present on days when the work was done and I can attest to the equipment

and labour that was present as reflected on the invoices presented by the contractor (copies enclosed in

Appendix A).

INTRODUCTION

Ontario Quarries Inc. acquired a block of contiguous claims in Parkin Township north of Capreol, Ont. in

the fall of 1992 from Mr. John G. Brady. The claims contain a beautiful, competent and unique "marble"

according to the industrial definition of the term. Since the claims were acquired, there has been a

tremendous amount of physical, mechanical and research work conducted to determine the extent of the

marble deposit, the quality, consistency, colour and texture of the stone, the engineering properties of the

stone, its marketability in domestic and international markets and the potential environmental impact of a

quarry and the environmental baseline values for contaminants. In summary, it has been determined that

the deposit contains a stone that is highly desirable and unique in the dimension stone markets in America

and abroad and is very significant in terms of its volume. The stone has excellent physical properties as it

meets or exceeds all ASTM standards for marble dimension stone for exterior use. There is quite a

variation in colour, texture and pattern of stone within the same deposit. The deposit is workable in terms

of its accessibility, feasibility and environmental comparability.

A very large amount of the exploration and development work conducted on this block of claims in the

last year and several months has been supported by financial incentives from MNDM who have been

indispensable in continuing our work on this dimension stone project. MNDM has been very supportive

in encouraging us to continue in our efforts to develop a fully producing marble quarry. Financial

incentives received were in the form of a Norfund "pre-feasibility" project in the amount of S 164,400

(level of assistance: 575,000), a N.O.R.T. project of 5394,849 which is now 90 percent complete (level

of assistance: 5195,000), a 1993 O.M.I.P. project designation in the amount of 5509,250 (level of

assistance: 5152,775) and a Norfund project to purchase and operate two specially engineered diamond

wire saws in order to permit the proper extraction of full-sized test blocks for marketing and technical

studies (level of assistance: 550,000). The saws were purchased and imported from a manufacturer in

Italy as they are not available anywhere in North America.

Most of the work to date has focussed on 9 claims that were originally purchased by Ontario Quarries Inc.

The entire contiguous block presently owned by Ontario Quarries Inc. consists of 32 mining claims (31 in

Parkin Twp. and one in Hutton Twp.).

SUMMARY OF MECHANICAL STRIPPING Si DRILLING CONDUCTED ON MINING CLAIMS FROM OCT. 3 1992 TO OCT. 18,1992

Mechanical stripping and exploration drilling for test blocks were conducted on claims S734218 and

S865266 between Oct. 3 and Oct. 18,1992. The purpose of this work was to determine the extent,

consistency, colour, quality, physical properties and trend of the Harama marble deposit which has

already been proven to have good commercial value and excellent potential for international export.

The stripping and exploration drilling effaces was followed by sampling for A.S.T.M. testing of

engineering properties for one type of marble as conducted by Ortech International of Mississauga, Ont.

in Dec. 1992 and Jan, 1993. The report and results of the A.S.T.M. testing conducted on samples from

the areas mechanically stripped and drilled were previously presented for assessment credit under work

report No. W9370.00047. Mechanical stripping and exploration drilling activity was also followed by

detailed geological mapping and deposit evaluation by an independent geological consultant (Norwin

Geological of Sudbury) in Nov. and Dec. 1992. The reports and maps produced by Norwin as a result

of the work were previously submitted for assessment credit under work report No. W9370.00048.

General maps showing the location of the mechanical stripping and the exploration drilling of faces and

blocks conducted are included in this work report. Detailed maps can be found in the previously

mentioned work reports. The reader can refer to those reports for details of the mapping, A.S.T.M.

testing, geological assessment and recommendations for future work on the deposit.

The contractor hired to supply equipment and labour for mechanical stripping and exploration drilliing

All work was supervised by Ontario Quarries Inc., the registered owner of the claims. Rachel

Prudhomme P.Eng., a licensed professional mining engineer and President of Ontario Quarries Inc.,

attended the worksite to provide professional and technical guidance and direction for stripping, drilling

of faces, sampling and prospecting, while Frank Villano, Vice-President, conducted field supervision of

equipment and labour sent by F.H.R. Construction Ltd.

A detailed summary of the cost of the mechanical stripping and exploration drilling work is included on

the following page. Copies of invoices from F.H.R. Construction Ltd. for this work are also included.
