Description
A device on the CAN bus is not working properly (possible defect of CAN driver)
Possible Reason and Solution
Check the Motor Prints.
Try to isolate the defect motor print. For identification of the defect device start
the Engraver only with x, y,z, rotary or without any axes (check laser dsp device).
Try to change the cpu print (laser CAN driver could be defect)
If the error could not be identified please change the I/O print and check voltage
source of the engraver – EMV problem?

Strong EMC fields (telephone

frequency- converters) can interfere the
data transmission in the machine
Use ferrites
Laser head does not reach end- points
of the bitmap- line
Check if the axis has too high friction
(especially close to the limit switches).
Maybe the belt tension is too high.

Possible Reason and Solution:
• Update is only successful if it occurs in IDLE Mode. If the Engraver is in
BUSY, STANDBY or PAUSE Mode then the update failes. • CAN Error

Error Code 129
Description
Fault of Laser DSP
Possible Reason and Solution:
Reason Solution
This error can occur after a firmware
update
Restart the engraver and check the
Laser DSP version in JobControl
(Settings->Information). If the Laser
DSP version is 0.0 then repeat the
firmware update. Then check the Laser
DSP version again. If the version is 0.0
the CPU board needs to be replaced
because reprogramming of Laser DSP
with JTAG programmer is required.
This error can occur if the laser dsp is
cleared.
Restart the engraver and check the
Laser DSP version in JobControl
(Settings->Information). If the Laser
DSP version is 0.0 then repeat the
firmware update. Then check the Laser
DSP version again. If the version is 0.0
the CPU board needs to be replaced
because reprogramming of Laser DSP
with JTAG programmer required.
This error can occur if a can driver on
the I/O print is defect
Detection:
a) unconnect all can motor
prints and look for an error on
the serial interface with
hyperterminal
b) try another cpu print – the

a) Change the i/o print
This error can occur if the cpu print
(c167) runs in watchdog timeout and
resets the c167 controller but not the
laser dsp
try to shutdown the engraver and turn
on the engraver. The error should be
gone
