He specialized in coaching the defensive backs. Hosack coached the HCHS girls track team for 31 years and took the program to new heights prior to his retire- ment in 2015. The Cyclone girls earned back-to-back state runner-up finishes in Head Coach Zach Klaassen’s Season Reflection “I believe this season showed a lot of growth from the previous season. We saw growth in almost all statistical categories, which led to us picking up eight more wins this year. We stayed pretty healthy this season so we could start the same kids every game and bring the same kids off the bench. That consistency makes everyone’s job easier. “The girls played hard all season. They really worked hard to improve as individuals and as a team. We moved to more of a motion offense this season and you need to know the tendencies of the players on the court for it to work. So having the same top seven all season helped us grow as a team offensively. We also tried to pick up the tempo as we had some success with that at times as well.
