Thats because most of the words come from Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8. The words King Solomon wrote suggest that there are seasons to life. There are the ordinary ones: birth, growing up, young adulthood, marriage and children, empty nest, the gold- en yearsand so on. Each season is different. Seasons remind us that life changes constantly. There are also seasons that maybe unique to us or not so ordinary, yet they are seasons of change and they present challenges to us. Will we grow and mature with them or not? There are a couple of unchanging things in this world. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) Our ap- propriate response to God never changes either: Ecclesiastes tells us at the end of the book that we should love and revere God. That never changes. So, in the sea- sons of life, change grow and mature, but dont lose sight that Jesus never changes and we never want to shiſt our allegiance away from The Creator God! In 1965 the Bryds sang a song written by Pete Seegar:

In the U.S., the song holds distinction as the number one hit with the oldest lyrics.

That’s because most of the words come from Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8. The words King

Solomon wrote suggest that there are seasons to life. There are the ordinary ones:

birth, growing up, young adulthood, marriage and children, empty nest, “the gold-

en years” and so on. Each season is different. Seasons remind us that life changes

constantly. There are also seasons that maybe unique to us or not so ordinary, yet

they are seasons of change and they present challenges to us. Will we grow and

mature with them or not? There are a couple of unchanging things in this world.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) Our ap-

propriate response to God never changes either: Ecclesiastes tells us at the end of

the book that we should love and revere God. That never changes. So, in the sea-

sons of life, change grow and mature, but don’t lose sight that Jesus never changes

and we never want to shift our allegiance away from The Creator God!

HAROLD’s COLumn

To everything (turn, turn, turn) There is a season (turn, turn, turn) And a time to every purpose, under heaven A time to be born, a time to die A time to plant, a time to reap A time to kill, a time to heal A time to laugh, a time to weep To everything (turn, turn, turn) There is a season (turn, turn, turn) And a time to every purpose, under heaven A time to build up, a time to break down A time to dance, a time to mourn A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together.

To everything (turn, turn, turn) There is a season (turn, turn, turn) And a time to every purpose, under heaven A time of love, a time of hate A time of war, a time of peace A time you may embrace, a time to re-frain from embracing To everything (turn, turn, turn) There is a season (turn, turn, turn) And a time to every purpose, under heaven A time to gain, a time to lose A time to rend, a time to sew A time for love, a time for hate A time for peace, I swear it's not too late
