PigeonTravel back 100 years to the battle fields of the First World War, when pigeons saved lives by flying vital messages behind enemy lines.

This is the incredible true story of one of those birds, who became known as ‘Cher Ami’.

First there was an egg and in that egg was a tiny little pigeon. The pigeon hatched and grew and learnt to fly. But soon the call came. This young bird was growing in a time of terrible war. Every man was needed to fight, and every pigeon was needed too.

Charmingly inventive puppets, original live music and delightfully daft characters combine to uncover a remarkable historical story.

Half a PersonCross Cut

My Life as Told by The SmithsMeet William, a twenty-something Londoner who drifts from coffee shop to bar, falling in love, self-obsessing and finding solace in The Smiths. Torn between conflicting loyalties to the girl of his dreams and his best friend, William has the chance to become more than Half a Person.

Inspired by Smiths’ song ‘William, It was really Nothing’ the production explores the tensions between lovers, friends, and the real-life loyalties; an emotionally charged, coming-of-age story, blending wry comedy and the music of a beloved cult band, sung live.

“Very funny.”The Independent on A Government Inspector

Written by Oliver GoldsmithDirected by Conrad NelsonDesigned by Jessica Worrall

It’s the 18th century.

Kate Hardcastle is a young lady fixed up to meet the eligible Marlow with a view to marriage. Marlow is a young gent who is tongue-tied with the upper classes and downright lecherous with commoners. So when Marlow is tricked into believing Kate’s ancestral home is a country inn, and mistakes Kate for a lowly barmaid what could possibly go wrong?

Plenty.

Set against the increasingly chaotic proceedings of one very long night, She Stoops to Conquer is a delightful romantic romp filled with ludicrous misunderstanding, mischief and mayhem.

The latest in a string of comedy hits from Director Conrad Nelson (The Government Inspector, The Grand Gesture), this version is more West Riding than West Country. Northern Broadsides’ talented cast of actor-musicians bring their unique charisma, theatrical magic and innate sense of fun to this flamboyant period comedy. Come prepared for merriment, warmth, wit and wigs. Big wigs. Very big wigs!

Man WhoThe

Square Peg Theatre Company

Woke Up DeadThis bold and cinematic piece is a dark, claustrophobic nightmare, akin to the

thrillers of Alfred Hitchcock, explores the divide between fact and fiction. When a mysterious man is rescued by an unsuspecting nurse, their world is

thrown into paralysing doubt. As their stories unravel we uncover a web of deceit, betrayal and manipulation where nothing is quite what it seems.

When everything you believe is shown to be false, holding on to any kind of truth becomes a deadly game.

Using their unique physical and cinematic style, Square Peg Theatre create an elegant, bold and beautifully choreographed world from the empty stage.

This visually stunning piece combined with a strong narrative incorporates mime and physical theatre. Square Peg Theatre are an emerging company who are

building an enviable reputation with their stunning physical theatre.
