Welcome to the Subscription Rooms Summer brochure!

As we welcome warmer weather and longer days, we are delighted to bring more thrilling entertainment for the people of Stroud District (and beyond) to enjoy. Taking us into the summer months are some truly exceptional gigs, shows and concerts so make sure to come and pay us a visit.

Headline gigs to look out for include roots, acoustic and folk legends Show of Hands who will be playing a fundraiser for local charity Stroud Court Community Trust, as well as Son Yambu whose intoxicating fusion of Spanish and African rhythms bring audiences a sensational, authentic Latin music experience.

This season we will be playing host to many brilliant community focused events. After the success of the January event we see the return of the fantastic Stroud Vegan Fair which will be a celebration of the best Vegan products and brands from the Gloucestershire area, as well as boasting an outdoor food court and a programme of talks and demos throughout the day. Gloucestershire Music Presents will also join us for four days of music-making featuring more than 600 youth, adult and community musicians. Not to mention much-loved TV presenter and naturalist Chris Packham, who willl be giving two talks (due

to popular demand!) in conjunction with Stroud Nature Festival.

Our family programme continues this season with some fantastic events. Two of our favourites include Kidzclub Stroud, a family rave for children up to age 11 and their adult accomplices, and Keepy Uppy, a play for the 2018 World Cup year aimed at football fans, non-football fans, children and families.

Two Brass Band favourites, Aldbourne Band and Fairey Band, return as our 2018 Brass Band Season continues into the summer and in May the brilliant JP Brass All Stars return for the second year as part of Jazz Stroud festival.

The locally run SubTrax club night presents two fantastic nights to keep you dancing to the early hours of the morning. Hip-Hop royalty The Sugarhill Gang will perform with local collective Stroud Block Party for a May Bank Holiday party like no other, and The Correspondents will be bringing their hi-octane, genre-bending dance music in June.

We hope everyone will find something that inspires them to visit us this summer, and don’t forget to check our website for any last-minute additions to the programme.
