Thanks to the extremely low ground pres-sures exerted by these machines, Cat® Multi Terrain Loaders work where other compact track loaders can’t. To meet the demands of most any job, Caterpillar offers a selection of Multi Terrain Loaders ranging from 56 to 73 net horsepower, with operat-ing capacities (at 50 percent tipping load) from 2,150 pounds to 4,000 pounds.

With their many work tool options, Cat Multi Terrain Loaders are highly ver-satile machines that deliver traditional Cat reliability and productivity in the toughest working conditions.

The D Series models set a new standard with one-piece, modular-construction cabs for a cleaner working environment. An improved HVAC system supplies 20 percent more airflow and approximately a 50 percent increase in heating and cooling rates.

The D Series also features the Cat Intelligent Leveling™ (ILEV) system, which provides dual self-leveling, elec-tronic snubbing, return-to-dig and work tool positioning. The dual self-leveling system electronically and automatically ensures optimum material retention. Electronic snubbing automatically cush-ions the descent of the lift arms, slowing downward motion just before the arms reach their stops.

The return-to-dig feature enables the operator to set the digging angle of the bucket and then to automatically recall the setting by depressing a trigger switch on the joystick as the lift arms lower. The work tool positioning feature allows the angle of the tool to be pre-set, as when positioning a trencher for the proper depth, and then to automatically recall the setting if the machine is repositioned.

SMALL HYDRAULIC EXCAVATORSThese excavators range from 91 to 125

net horsepower, with operating weights from 32,600 pounds to 44,225 pounds.

The line of Cat small excavators is built around the C4.4 ACERT™ engine, which de-livers the same level of performance using significantly less fuel than the previous se-ries engine. The C4.4 ACERT engine features an aftertreatment regeneration solution that

ensures the machine works as normal with no operator intervention needed.

The engine is equipped with an electronic-controlled high-pressure fuel system that includes an electric priming pump and three-layer fuel hoses to allow the use of biodiesel up to B20 biodiesel 20 percent mixture.

These machines also feature speed control to maximize performance while minimizing fuel consumption. Two dif-ferent power modes are offered: high power mode for maximum production, and economy mode for performance with the lowest fuel consumption. The operator can easily change between modes through a console switch panel.

The 319D L/LN is equipped with a Cat C4.2 ACERT engine

that is also built for power, reliability, efficiency and

high performance in all applications. It provides low exhaust emissions with exceptional per-formance capabilities and proven reliability.

Setting the StandardThe wide range of Cat Hydraulic Excavators provides cost-efficient production for jobs of any size.

For good reason, Cat® Hydraulic Excavators are one of the most common sights in construction zones across North America. The Caterpillar® 300 Family of excava-tors provides many working advantages, including more digging depth, more power, greater reach, more lift capacity, higher breakout forces and more swing torque.

MINI HYDRAULIC EXCAVATORSCat Mini Hydraulic Excavators range

from 13 to 65 net horsepower, with operating weights from 2,060 pounds to 18,519 pounds.

The D Series excavators are strong, versatile machines that work comfort-ably in confined spaces. They feature powerful hydraulics, a spacious opera-tor environment and excellent service access. The smaller models can be easily transported on a trailer or in a pick-up truck.

D Series models are available with a canopy operator’s station that enables access from both sides of the machine,

or with an optional enclosed cab provid-ing premium standard features such as an efficient heater/defroster/ventilation system. A spacious operator’s compart-ment offers a comfortable suspension seat, retractable seat belts, adjust-able wrist rests, and ample legroom.

All models offer two-way auxil-iary hydraulics enabling the operation of both hydraulic hammer and a bi-directional tool such as an auger. All controls are pilot operated, eliminating any maintenance required to cables and linkages.

Caterpillar designed the Com-plete Operation, Mainte-nance, Performance and Security Sys-tem (COMPASS) on the E series mini hydraulic exca-vators specifically for compact excavators. COMPASS adds value with a standard anti-theft security system, adjustable work tool auxiliary flow control, and an economy mode that saves up to 20 percent in fuel costs.

MEDIUM HYDRAULIC EXCAVATORSCat mid-size hydraulic excavators are

excellent selections for mid-sized projects. These excavators range from 148 to 228 net horsepower, with operating weights from 51,875 pounds to 87,850 pounds.

Even at the smaller end of the range, the highly maneuverable 320E is power-ful enough to handle tough jobs. Its lift capacity has been improved by 5 percent on the standard machine and up to 20 percent on the heavy-lift configuration. A lower-emissions engine boosts fuel efficiency, while other new features en-hance safety and productivity, cut service time and reduce operating costs.

That kind of power is available from the entire line, with the excavators equipped with Cat C6.4™ through C7.1 ACERT engines that offer better fuel efficiency along with productivity. The combination of ACERT technology with Economy Mode and Power Management balances the de-mands of performance and fuel economy.

The hydraulic systems are designed to provide reliability and outstanding con-trollability with increased digging forces, lifting capacity and drawbar pull. A heavy-lift mode maximizes lifting performance and maintains excellent stability.

LARGE HYDRAULIC EXCAVATORSPower, speed and fuel efficiency

make Cat large hydraulic excava-tors exceptional choices for bulk earthmoving and heavy lift-ing applications. The line ranges from 268 to 523 net horsepower, with operating weights from 82,000 to 156,819 pounds.

Among the large excavators from Caterpillar is the 336E H, the industry’s first hydraulic hybrid excavator. The unique 336E H uses recovered energy from the swing to help reduce fuel consumption by up to 33 percent compared to the pow-

erful Cat 336D doing the same amount of work. The busier the machine, the greater the fuel savings.

Similarly, the 336E L provides 12 per-cent more engine power and 5 percent greater hydraulic lift capacity with less fuel consumption than the 336D. The ver-satile 336E also reaches further to take on any job thrown its way, and it boasts a host of cab improvements to keep opera-tors safe, comfortable and productive.

These are just two of the examples from the range of large Cat excavators that can provide advantages in the field and on the bottom line.

Medium Wheel LoadersThe new 966M, 972M, 980M and

982M Wheel Loaders have U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final ACERT™ engines equipped with proven electronic, fuel, air and aftertreat-ment components. Deep system inte-gration reduces emissions while improv-ing performance and fuel economy.

The XE advanced powertrain technology option available on the 966M and 972M results in 25 percent lower fuel consumption on average compared to machines with traditional torque converters, simplifies operation with a two-pedal design and provides high performance at all speeds. The M Series powertrains have also been improved with the addition of lock-up clutch torque converters.

From the 950K through the 980K, the power ranges from 211 to 369 net horsepower. Operating weights vary from 42,811 to 68,862 pounds, with bucket capacities available from 3.25 all the way to 16 cubic yards.

Load-sensing hydraulics produce flow and pressure for the implement sys-tem upon demand and only in amounts necessary to perform the needed work functions, enhancing machine productiv-ity and fuel efficiency. Implement control-lability is improved through simultaneous implement operation and repeatable fine modulation, enabling greater operator comfort through ease of operation.

The two-piece structural frame design provides a rugged and reliable foundation for the machine that improves stability, performance and serviceability. A robust articulating hitch system joins the front and rear frames, improving durability.

Large Wheel LoadersCat Large Wheel Loaders set the

standard for optimizing productivity, minimizing downtime, enhancing opera-tor comfort and enhancing protection through key safety features.
