t(tFirst, wash yourhands.
Take off the
blue cap.
Tilt your headbackwards.
Pull yourbottom eyeliddownwards to
make a pocket.
Hold the
bottle in yourother hand
between yourthumb and
first finger,with the tipclose to your bottom eyelid.
Squeeze the bottle gently until onedrop of the solution falls into youreye.
Blink a few times to spread the eyedrop.
Repeat the process with your other
eye if you need to treat both eyes.
1 Place the
large WHITEcap on thenozzle of thebottle.
How to use your eye drops
To break the seal and prepare youreye drops for use, follow theinstructions below:-
2 Screw down
the largeWHITE capas far as it
will go in aclockwisedirection. Thiswill break theseal.
3 To use youreye dropsonly removethe small
BLUEcap.This willreveal awhite nozzle.
4 Do not rernove the white capduring use.
The usual treatment is one or two
drops up to four times a day. Thecorrect way to put eye drops intoyour eye is as follows.
Before you use your eyedrops
Do not use your eye drops if you:
have ever had a bad reaction toany of the ingredients listed in the'What is in your eye drops' section;
Tell your doctor before you use youreye drops if:
you are pregnant;
you are wearing soft contact lenses(you can put your contact lenses
back in 15 minutes after using youreye drops, but make sure you takeyour lenses out before you put thenext dose of eye drops in your eyes).
Benzalkonium chloride maydiscolour soft contact lenses, and itcan cause eye irritation.
You may find that your vision is
blurred after you put the eye dropsinto your eyes. Do not drive or usemachinery until your vision iscompletely normal.
These eye drops are sterile while thebottle is sealed. Do not use them ifthe bottle is open or the seal isbroken when you get them.

Each bottle contains:
13.5 millilitresl(ml) of a clear, paleyellow solution containing 2% w/vSodium Cromoglicate. (activeingredient); and
benzalkonium chloride, disodiumedetate and purified water.
IYour eye drops are called Hay-Crom2% w/v Aqueous Eye Drops, Solution.
The common name for your eyedrops is sodium cromoglicate whichis part of a group of drugs known asanti-allergics.

Keep the bottle in the outer cartonto protect from light.
Do not use the eye drops after theexpiry date shown on the caron,after the bottle has been open for a
month or if the drops have tfcomecloudy or discoloured. Get a newbottle.

What to do if you use toomany eye drops
You may have some side effectswhile you are using your eye drops.They include blurred vision, mildstinging and burning. These sideeffects only usually last for a shortwhile and happen immediately afterputting in the drops. If you noticeany other unusual or unexpected
If you forget to use your drops atthe right time, use them as soon asyou remember.
After using your eye drops
If you use too many eye drops, rinseyour eyes with clean water. Contactyour nearest hospital casualtydepartment or a doctor for advice ifyou have swallowed the eye dropsor if you think a child has swallowedany.
Take this leaflet, and any eye dropsthat are left to show the doctor.
Do not breathe on or touch the
dropper nozzle and do not let thedropper nozzle touch the eye.
Put the cap back on the bottle.
Wash your hands again.
Close the bottle tightly after youhave used your eye drops. Use youreye drops for as long as your doctorhas told you to. Do not stop usingthem as soon as you feel better the drops will prevent more allergicreactions.
