Health care reform means better coverage you can count on throughout
your entire life.

• Support, Education and Research for Postpartum Depression
• Pregnancy Assistance Fund

• Kids under 19 in families that earn less than 133% FPL will be eligible for free Medicaid coverage.
• Increase in payments to match Medicare rates for pediatrician and primary care physicians.
• SCHIP will continue until 2014 which means that all kids will have access to affordable, comprehensive health insurance.
• Allows more Americans access to affordable prescriptions- especially children.
• Funds a childhood obesity program.

young adults to pay in out-of-pocket-expenses, co-pays, and deductibles
• Creates high-risk pool for those adults with pre-existing conditions

• A 2006 report from the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) reveals that the US will need 39 percent more family physicians by the year 2020
• Illinois is projected to need an additional 1,000 (28%) family physicians to meet the demand in 2020.
• Expands nurse retention and student loan programs
• Creates grant programs to grow numbers of primary care, geriatric, oral health, and psychiatric workforce

• Establishes loan repayment program for pediatric specialists who commit to work in underserved areas
• Creates a public health workforce recruitment and retention program offering loan repayments in exchange for service at a state, local, or tribal health department

• Small businesses with fewer than 25 employees providing health insurance for workers will receive tax credits.
• 2010-2013, federal government provides tax credit up to 35% of employer’s contribution if employer pays 50% of premium cost.
• 2014 and beyond, government provides tax credit of up to 50% of employer’s contribution if purchasing through the National Exchange
