for. Give your parent a big hug and tell them

about your picture.

Just like most Fairy Tales, it begins with ‘Once Upon a time…’.

Just like most fairy tales, it has a pattern of

‘three’. What can you notice all of the sets of

3 that are mentioned in the story?

Play Pretend to be Papa Bear, Mama Bear,

or Baby Bear. Find things that are ‘just

right’ for your character and things that would be

just right for the other characters in the story.

Pretend to be Goldilocks and try out each one.

Write Bear, baby, and bed all start with the

letter ‘B’…

What else can you think of that starts with the

‘B’ sound? Draw a picture of a bear.

- label the parts of your picture OR

– tell about your picture and someone else will

write what you say OR

- point to the eyes, ears, mouth, nose, and fur

Move The bears went for a walk while

their porridge cooled off. Go

outside for a walk with your grown up. Sunshine

and fresh air are good for our bodies and our

brains!

Can you move like a bear?

Count how many steps you take in a ‘bear growl

voice’ while you bear crawl.

Try this bear fingerplay! (hold up a finger(s)

showing each number as you go)

-1 momma bear curled up in a ball (hug yourself)

-2 bear cubs playing, so furry and so small (put out

thumb and pinky and move in ASL sign for play)

-3 frisky bears tumble out of sight (make fists

and roll in a circle)

-4 bears tuck in for winter, good night bears, good

night (lean face on hands like you’re going to sleep)

Connect You are an important member of

your family.

Help during meal time today by giving each family

member (a fork, spoon, plate, cup, snack, etc.

depending on what works for your family).

cuantos pasos das en un gruñido de oso mientras

te mueves en marcha lenta.

Cantar ¡Mira, canta y muévete con Dr. Jean

mientras ella va a cazar osos!

Going on a Bear Hunt

Trata este juego con los dedos (sostiene un

dedo/dedos mostrando cada número a medida que

avanzas).

-1 mamá oso acurrucada como una pelota (abrázate

tú mismo).

-2 cachorros de oso jugando, muy peludos y muy

pequeños (pon afuera el dedo pulgar y el dedo

meñique y muévelos para jugar)

-3 osos juguetones caen fuera de la vista ( hacer

puños y rodar en un círculo)

-4 osos se resguardan para el invierno, buenas

noches osos, buenas noches (apoyar/recostar tu

cara en las manos como si fueras a dormir)

Conectar Tú eres un miembro importante de

tu familia.

Ayuda hoy durante el horario de

comida, dándole a cada miembro de la familia (un

tenedor, una cuchara, un plato, un vaso, un

bocadillo, etc.), dependiendo de lo que funcione

para tu familia.

Who did not help her? Do you think she should have shared her

bread?

The Little Red Hen ground her

wheat into flour. Pour a little flour onto a

cookie sheet or baking pan, and practice

making lines in the flour using your finger or

the end of a wooden spoon.

Help and Hen both start with “H’.

Write the letter H in the flour, or practice

writing your name!

Experiment Add some water to a cake pan or

shallow bowl. Add some soap or

shampoo to the water. Add whisks, small

bowls, funnels, and measuring cups to the

water and explore measuring.

***Note to Adults: even the smallest

amount of water can cause drowning.

Supervise your child during any water

activity!

brother goats who share the family name ‘Gruff’. Do you know what your family, or last name,

is? Ask your parents to write it down and practice writing / tracing your first and last names.

Can you make the ‘tromp, tromp’ sound with

the goats hooves as they move over the

bridge?

Play Goats, Gruff, and Goldilocks all

start with the letter ‘G’. G has

two sounds, these all start with a ‘hard G’

sound. Play a game of ‘I Spy’ and go on a

scavenger hunt (indoors or outdoors with your

grown up) and see what you can find that

starts with the same hard ‘G’ sounds! Pretend

to look through a magnifying ‘G’lass like a

detective!

Build -Build a bridge using blocks, boxes,

toilet paper tubes, cardboard,

paper, toothpicks and marshmallows, or any

other items you have at home.

-Be creative and have fun!

-Gather small action figures or other small

items and see if your bridge is strong enough

to hold them. What can you hide under your

bridge as the pretend troll?

Move

With help from your grown up,

make an Obstacle Course and move through it

like the Billy Goats…Tromp Tromp.

Do you have a sibling or grown up who can be a
