Minimize Parts - Maximize EfficiencyThe HDC Cable Configurator is a guided cable assembly and kitting tool that will allow you to easily design and integrate a full end-to-end pluggable connection system. The ease extends to ordering– there is only one part number for a complete cable harness and one part number for each mating assembly required for your application. No more than three part numbers are needed to provide a complete and protected pluggable connection between panels, machinery, equipment and more.

RockStar® Heavy Duty ConnectorsHeavy duty connectors are used wherever there is a need for a secure, simple and pluggable assembly of machinery and facilities. The connector housings are made of die-cast aluminum and offer excellent protection against dirt, moisture and mechanical stress.

Compatibility Means FlexibilityWeidmuller‘s HDC inserts and housings are compatible with other manufacturers‘ products enabling seamless integration to any design.*

Global ApprovalsWeidmuller‘s Heavy Duty Connectors are cURus and CSA approved, and the certified cables are UL and CSA listed. In addition, the cables are RoHS and FT4 rated at 600V.

At Weidmuller, we understand the complexity involved in designing and creating connecting cables for heavy duty connectors (HDC). The HDC Cable Harness components – cable, cable glands, housing and inserts – are supplied in multiple variations that can be incompatible due to wire gauge, gland thread and latching system. Just the number of components can make ordering and assembling additional hurdles to overcome. To save time and simplify the process, the HDC Cable Configurator requires only a few details about an application to provide a protected, pluggable end-to-end connection.

Start your design with the cable requirements, such as pole count, wire gauge and the length of the harness. The configurator will remember these specifications and narrow down your future selections to ensure a design that works.

If your application requires Cable End “B” to wire directly to equipment or a panel, just select flying leads instead of an insert and housing for that harness end. To simplify your in-house wiring, in addition to your length specification, the configurator provides options for blunt (cut), tinned or ferruled ends.

Now you can choose the housing options for the Cable End “A” and “B” of your harness, such as hood or coupler, side or end locking, top or side entry and cover.

Generate a .pdf version of the quote for your harness and optional side assemblies, print it or save for review later. To order, just submit a PO using the custom part number(s) generated on your quote (see circled part number examples).

Example: Complete Cable Harness with Side “A” and “B” Connections

With a fully designed harness, the configurator will provide options for kitting Cable Side “A” and/or “B” components to provide a complete “end to end” connection. Options can include bulkhead, coupler or base housings with your choice of screw or push-in type inserts to meet the requirements of any application.
