GiveBIG 2020

This year GiveBIG will now be a two-day

giving event from May 5–6. Early giving will

start on April 15, allowing donors more time

to make their gifts.

It is hard to measure the full impact of one

person's life. But some people inspire

generosity in others that continues even after

they are gone—including Ruth Ann Dunn, in

whose memory Page Ahead has recently

received several meaningful gifts.

We were happy to learn a little more about

Ruth Ann from her daughter Suzanne Dunn

Plaza recently: "Ruth Ann Dunn was a caring

and kind person who had dedicated her life to

her family and her teaching career. To her,

teaching reading was more than just the

mechanics of reading the words.

Understanding what they meant was the key

to being able to enjoy a good story or funny

anecdote. Although she will be missed, we

feel that helping contribute to the work Page

Ahead is doing would be a fitting tribute to her

and to the work she loved."

Last month we went virtual for our 17th annual A Taste for Reading benefit luncheon. With thesupport of our wonderful sponsors and the valiant efforts of our table captains, we raised morethan $180,000. Thank you to everyone who donated!

Page Ahead Turns 30:Three Decades of Building Home Libraries

30th Anniversary Spotlight

In this issue, we would like to put the spotlight

on all Page Ahead volunteers past and

present. Last year more than 534 volunteers

contributed over 4,120 hours. You can imagine

how over 30 years that number would be in

the six digits!

We are a small organization with a big reach,

relying heavily on the hard work and

dedication of our loyal volunteers. We couldn't

serve the 20,000+ students we do without the

tireless efforts of our volunteers.

April is National Volunteer Month, and while

we can't see our volunteers during this time,

we want to send them a HUGE virtual hug.
