By Jon Bassford, Director of Law OperationsOn June 18, 2008, Keith Gallo attended a Skee Poll Concert at the

Charles Street Arena. During the concert, Keith and his cousin left theirticketed seats to join other fans in festival seating after Skee Poll shouted“rush to your stage.” The crowd pressure proved to be too much as KeithGallo died that evening. A case to be solved!

Almost two years later, on March 5-6, 2010, members of Phi Alpha Deltacame to Las Vegas to determine if Skee Poll was liable for the death of KeithGallo at the P.A.D. Mock Trial Competition.

The competition began three years ago as a District V event but quicklygrew into a P.A.D. signature event with 31 teams from 24 chapters competing.

With over 180 ind iv idua l s par t i c ipa t ing in the event , the 2010Competition was more than double the previous year. Among the participantswere the students and coaches who came from their respective law schoolsto compete. Over 40 alumni and local attorneys volunteered as judges andgeneral support of event.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered to make this a successful event!A special thank you to Mandy Thomas (Garland), Jay Ross (Paterson) and Carrie Smith (Black) for their

hard work in coordinating the judges for the event. Also, we would like to thank International Vice Justice RonWinter (Alden) for serving as the official International Executive Board representative for the event.

An additional thank you to Capt. Collin Delaney and the JAG Corps officers from the Nellis AFB forjudging.

Lastly, we cannot forget to thank our sponsors for the event: GEICO, Themis Bar Review, and UNLV BoydSchool of Law.

The competition was both fraternal and fierce as only a few points separated the top seated teams. Inaddition to receiving plaques, the top four teams will receive scholarships from Themis Bar Review for theChapter to apply toward Convention registration. At right are the results with the corresponding scholarship amounts.

Thank you again to everyone that participated!

By Stephen T. King,International Secretary

My wife and Irecently added a babyboy to our household. Heis only four weeks old, soI hope to elicit from myreaders some sympathyas I struggle withfrequently interruptedsleep, late nightfussiness, and messydiapers. Please note thatyour International

Secretary’s mental acuity hasdisintegrated, at least temporarily, as aresult of the household commotion.

The timing of our son’s birth alsocaused a temporary rearrangement ofExecutive Board duties. TheInternational Executive Board’s wintermeeting was scheduled to occur amere three days prior to my son’s duedate. My wife insisted that I remainat home in Mississippi rather thantravel to Tampa, Florida for the Boardmeeting. I suggested to my wife thatshe could handle the baby’s deliverywithout me. In response, shesuggested that I go... well, let me leaveher response to your imagination.

Ron Winter, the currentInternational Vice Justice and formerInternational Secretary, stepped in to thevoid and filled the role of secretary forthe Board meeting. I was resigned toparticipating by telephone from home. You can imagine the pain and frustrationof being stretched out on a recliner inmy pajamas and fleece-linedslippers, drinking a

steaming cup of fresh brewed coffee, while participating in the proceedingsvia remote access. My eternal gratitudeto Ron Winter for taking the minutes.

The point of this little tale is topoint out the importance of beingprepared for contingencies. Eachchapter officer needs to be aware of andunderstand the various roles and dutiesof the other chapter officers in case ofan emergency or the absence of anofficer at a crucial moment.Understanding each others’ roles andduties also promotes greatercohesiveness and accountability withinthe chapter leadership.

In no area is a contingency planmore important than in the selectionof Convention delegates. We are just afew months removed from Convention2010 in Tampa, Florida. Some chaptersmay have chosen their conventiondelegates already. If your chapter hasnot gone through the delegate selectionprocess, I advise that you do soimmediately. Once delegates have beenchosen, I would further advise that thechapter identify potential substitutedelegates. It is not uncommon for achapter to have to scramble at the lastminute to find a substitute because theperson who was supposed to attend theConvention had an illness, death in thefamily, or other unavoidable conflict.Every chapter should be represented atConvention. Part of that processshould include acontingency plan.

Dooley Chapter Flourishes at NIUDooley Chapter Flourishes at NIUDooley Chapter Flourishes at NIUDooley Chapter Flourishes at NIUDooley Chapter Flourishes at NIUBy Amber Michlig, ClerkNorthern Illinois University’s Dooley Chapter has been flourishing

this year. This semester’s professional events have included Greg Anderson’s“Resume Tips” and Professor Taylor’s “Scheduling Tips.” These informativeworkshops allowed our members to gain the skills needed for job searchesand class preparation.

Our Chapter also hosted lectures by faculty members describing theirprevious work experience. Professor Falkoff discussed his work with writsof habeas corpus pertaining to inmates at Guantanamo Bay, and ProfessorJones discussed his experience of working in a large law firm. The lectureshelped attendees get to know their professors while learning about thelegal system.

We are looking forward to our biggest upcoming event — a chilicook-off to raise funds for the chapter. The cook-off is open to everyoneand the winner will receive their name on a plaque.

By International Vice-Justice Ronald J. Winter (Alden)The First Annual P.A.D. Mock Trial Tournament is in the books, and it

was a rousing success. I had the pleasure and honor of traveling to Las Vegas inearly March to participate in the event as a judge and evaluator. I came awaywith a sense that the students who participated (we had 31 teams representing24 schools) were committed, talented and inspired.

I mention the tournament here because I believe that there is much to begained by having each of our law school chapters put together a mock trialteam program. For one thing, participation on such a team appears to be arallying point for many of our chapters throughout the country. I have cometo learn that many of our chapters witnessed an upsurge in member initiationcoinciding with the mock trial tournament announcement.

Moreover, a mock trial team presents a wonderful opportunity to workwith local P.A.D. alumni as coaches, mentors and judges in preparation forcompetition. In many of our law chapter communities there continues to bea disconnect between the students and alumni in the area. This program

provides a means to bridge that gap and unite members of the bench and bar with our members at law schools for their mutualpurpose of educating our younger members about the practice of law.

In addition, the spirit engendered by the competition helps to bond the team members in a way that serves as a microcosmof the fraternity experience. Many of the team members who competed in Las Vegas were thrilled to find that their colleaguesthroughout the nation were eager to assist them in pursuing their goals within the legal profession. Many have since contacted meindividually to express their view that the tournament allowed them to see first-hand that involvement in Phi Alpha Delta canwork to their benefit in learning about our profession and making valuable contacts that enhances their networking opportunities.

As I addressed the crowd at the closing banquet, I challenged each of the teams present to have delegates from theirrespective schools in Tampa, Florida this summer for the biennial convention. The experience of the mock trial tournament ismagnified tenfold at convention. I haven’t missed a convention since my first one in Cleveland, Ohio as a rising 2L in 1978,and I expect to be in Tampa in August with my family. I hope to see you there.

So, if you haven’t already done so, start thinking about creating a mock trial team this year and be prepared to send themto the Second Annual P.A.D. Mock Trial Tournament next spring. Just my advice.

has expanded its scope to the St. Louis community. The chapter has fostered a fraternalatmosphere by hosting several successful events not only at the law school, but also in thesurrounding community. A bowling event started an exciting semester by providing asocial gathering for P.A.D. members. The community service event for KEEN (Kids EnjoyExercise Now) St. Louis centered on coaching developmentally disabled kids in variousathletic activities. In this event, P.A.D. members worked directly with the kids, helping them participate and interact with each other. While the success of theseevents has built confidence in the already ambitious team, the Book Drive eventwhich began March 15th is another highlight of this semester. All book donations inthis event will be given to Ready Readers and all other donations will benefit the Missouri Department ofCorrections libraries and the Greater St. Louis Book Fair.

In addition to these great events, the chapter has alsomade every effort to increase professional networkingopportunities and give first-year students the academicsupport that they need to successfully complete their work. The chapter has kept its online “Outline Bank” on TWENwhich holds more than 45 teacher specific outlines. Also, the team will disperse commercial study aids for its first-year members. Even more, we hosted a research trainingsession related to using Westlaw for interview preparationand job search to help our members strengthen theirinterview skills and gain access to job information. Allof this has been done in the spirit of brotherhood, making Champ Clark a chapter on the move and ready toparticipate vigorously as a part of a greater international team.

By Jennifer Smutek, Pre-Law Operations AssistantIt’s that time of year again… time for all of the hard work that you and

your fellow chapter members accomplished this year to pay off. It is timeto start applying for the 2010 Pre-Law Chapter Awards.

Did your chapter have some amazing programming this year? Perhapsyour chapter President or Faculty Advisor went above and beyond the call ofduty. Maybe your Chapter is the most outstanding of all the Phi Alpha DeltaPre-Law Chapters. If so, your Chapter should send in an award application.

It does not matter how big or small your chapter is, all are welcome toapply. At the Executive Office, we know that all of our chapters have beendoing some outstanding stuff this year, and we encourage each chapter toapply for at least one award.

Applications can be found in the Pre-Law section of our website,www.pad.org, and must be submitted no later than the first Monday inJune. Late applications will not be considered, so be sure to get yourapplications in now before the hustle and bustle of finals.

As always, if you have any questions concerning the awards, pleasecontact Pre-Law Operations Director, Byron K. Rupp, or Jennifer Smutek,Pre-Law Operations Assistant, at the Executive Office. More informationabout the awards can also be found at www.pad.org.

You have prepared diligently formonths, perhaps even years for animportant exam. Days and weeks beforethe test, your understanding grows tothe point where you are sure that youhave a complete mastery of the material.Your scores on LSAT practice tests areconsistently good, your grasp of theexam format is secure, and there isnothing imaginable that could get in theway of you and a great score on this test.

Nothing, that is, except yourself. On test day, your pulse quickens, yourhands sweat, and your mind races. Youfind yourself concentrating oneverything that isn’t the test in front ofyou. You actually begin to worry aboutthe fact that you are worrying, until yourealize that you have just spent 5minutes staring at the first logicgame without even beginning tofind a solution.

Sound familiar? If it does, you’re not alone.

Everyone, at one time or another, hasfelt the negative effects of testperformance anxiety. It’s a horriblefeeling — both during the test andafterward — knowing that you andonly you were the direct cause of yoursubpar score.

Despite what you may think aboutyour innate test ability (”I’m just badat taking tests,” “I always choke,” etc.etc.), there are ways to deal withthis. Check out this concrete plan, after the jump.

You may have heard about or eventried drugs called beta blockers in orderto calm your nerves. You also might

know some people thatswear by powerfulstimulants like caffeine andAdderall to boost mentalperformance and focus onthe day of the test. Both ofthese solutions havedrawbacks. For one, all drugshave side effects—betablockers can make you feelslow and lethargic (notexactly ideal states for anintense test), whilestimulants can cause your

mind and body to race out of control. The main problem with using drugs tooptimize performance is that you don’treally solve the problem—the next timeyou have to perform under pressure, you’ll need the drug again. Effectively, you’ll be writing yourself a lifelongprescription for a mental crutch everytime you need to perform. Thissituation can only inhibit long-termimprovement.

Drugs solve the physiologicalproblems of performance anxiety byaddressing the physiology of thephenomenon. While they may lower

your heart rate or boost your dopaminelevels, they cannot truly act to optimizeyour mental state. To do this you needto effectively hack your own mind.

What makes test-day different fromtaking practice tests in your living room? There are the visual stimuli: theunfamiliar appearance of the testingcenter, the slightly annoying monitor, the presence of other test-takers in theroom. There is also the smell of theroom, the sound of other keyboards a-clicking (or the feel of the uncomfortableheadphones if you choose to use them),the unfamiliar chair, the locker roombefore the test, etc., etc. And then thereis the unfamiliar feeling that this onematters. You are not in Kansas anymore.

The classic symptoms ofperformance anxiety are merelyresponses to these changes in stimuli.Understand this, and you can take a fewsimple steps to engineer these responsesto work to your benefit.

1. Keep a record of your LSATpractice test scores with notes. What didyou do the day you scored your best?

Delta’s mission for this quarter is to address the questions of fellowstudents who are considering going to law school. So we organizedand promoted a Law School Workshop with the Bar Association ofSan Francisco (BASF).

The BASF officials were well informed and clearly explained all theadmissions procedures to the students. We had three speakers, two of whomwere attorneys who were able to share their personal experiences at law school. The workshop really helped clear away any confusion attendees may havehad about the law school experience.

The workshop was also a great opportunity for us to promote Phi Alpha Delta and our chapter. We introduced ourselvesto students and explained the benefits of joining Phi Alpha Delta. We have also passed out information flyers as well asapplication form to assist them with joining this fraternity. We look forward to being able to assist students who areinterested in going on to law school.

YYYYYoung and Aoung and Aoung and Aoung and Aoung and ActivctivctivctivctiveeeeeAt just over two years old, the Western

Illinois University Pre-Law Chapter of Phi AlphaDelta can be described as many things, but neveras “amateur.” Our chapter is growing whilebecoming more active and more involved withinthe campus and surrounding community.

Each bimonthly chapter meeting includesinformation on law schools, the admissionsprocess, and/or practicing logic games that arefound on the LSAT. Frequently, guest speakers

come to the meetings and speak and answer questions about their area ofexpertise. Past guest speakers have included a business law professor at WIU,the Political Science Chairperson and Pre-law Advisor of WIU who is aprominent attorney himself, or the law admission advisors and students fromSouthern Illinois University or Drake Law Schools.

About two weeks before each official LSAT test, the WIU chapter holds afree practice LSAT test with an official proctor that is open to any student oncampus. We also assisted the Centennial Honors College of Western IllinoisUniversity with a Pre-Law Symposium in February to teach students aboutthe pre-law program on campus and the possibilities a law degree can bring.

A “date auction” fundraiser will allow students to bid on dates that aresponsored by local businesses, generating some publicity and revenue for ourchapter. A “Pink Flamingo” fundraiser is in progress, which allows facultymembers to “flamingo” another faculty member’s office or have decorationsremoved for a fee. In April we are sponsoring a blood drive, and in May weplan to host an assembly at Macomb High School which will feature a panelof lawyers and professors who will answer questions about law school andcareer possibilities.

Education is key to the success and growth of our chapter. Sending membersto Washington, DC for the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Conference contributedto the innovative ideas the fraternity had to increase publicity and educationon campus and in the community. Although young, the P.A.D. Pre-LawChapter at WIU is knowledgeable and will continue to impact and enlightenWestern Illinois students and local community members.

To do that, your Chapter calendarshould include programs that answer thequestion, “What can I do with a lawdegree?” in both traditional and non-traditional paths. You can find speakersfrom both categories in local P.A.D.alumni. You should also hold programsthat help them understand theadmissions process and the financial sideof attending law school.

For those students who decide thatthey do want to go to law school,Chapter programming should focus onhelping them be as prepared for lawschool as possible. Ten percent of 1Lsdropped out in 2007-2008 (the latestyear that the ABA has providedstatistics), and with an average annualcost of nearly $30,000 for tuition, roomand board, going to law school to figureout if you want to be a lawyer is anawfully expensive chance to take.

Your Chapter programming shouldfocus heavily upon helping yourmembers make an informed decisionabout law school and a career in the law. While Chapters can hold some socialevents, any Chapter whose socialprograms are more than 15% of theirtotal programs is a Chapter that is notmeeting Fraternity expectations and indanger of losing focus of why it exists.

MMMMMaintaining aintaining aintaining aintaining aintaining YYYYYour Chapterour Chapterour Chapterour Chapterour Chapter’’’’’s Rs Rs Rs Rs RosterosterosterosterosterBy Jennifer Smutek, Pre-Law Operations AssistantIf you are currently holding office in your chapter, you are well aware of the

many responsibilities that come with the position. One that is often overlooked, however, is the importance of maintaining an up-to-date roster of members andofficers. While such a simple task may not seem to be of great importance, failureto maintain a proper roster can result in many problems, including some membersnot having access to their membership benefits.

While each officer of the chapter is responsible for making sure the chapter hasa complete and up-to-date roster, the Secretary is the officer primarily responsiblefor maintaining the roster.

So how does one effectively maintain the chapter roster? Every time a newmember submits an application and dues to the chapter, the Secretary shouldrecord the new member on the chapter roster along with the new member’s initiationdate. Additionally, the Secretary may wish to record the member’s contactinformation. Once the new members have been initiated, the Secretary shouldemail a copy of the updated roster to [email protected]. Don’t forget to removemembers from the roster upon graduation.

Maintaining a current roster may also help your chapter recruit new membersinto the fraternity. Have sign-up sheets at your chapter events, then compare thelist to your roster of members. You can then contact the non-members on the sign-up sheets with information about joining your Chapter.

By having a complete and up-to-date roster of all of your members, you will besurprised how much more efficiently your chapter can operate. If you wish to haveyour current roster reviewed for accuracy, or would like assistance in setting up aroster, simply send it to me at [email protected] and I will be happy to assist you!

Did you exercise? Did you listen tomusic? Or did you come home fromwork, eat a big bowl of mac and cheeseand watch The Office? Write thesethings down and pay attention to them.It doesn’t matter what they are. You’rejust looking for a set of 2-3 things thatyou enjoy doing — things that you cando consistently every single day to putyou in a good test-taking state of mind.Let’s call these things your “zone-ins”— you will use them to zone in toyour best state of mind before everytest you take.

2. Suppose your two zone-ins areeating mac and cheese and watchingThe Office. These are particularly goodzone-ins because they touch upon morethan one of your five senses. Mac andcheese is a taste stimulus; The Office isboth a visual and an aural stimulus.Suppose you are a month away fromtaking your test. (You will need at leasta month to make this process work).Do these two or three activities in

the same order before every singlepractice test that you take.

Say you come home from work at6, eat your mac and cheese, watch anepisode of The Office online, and thentake your practice test. Take a breakbefore you do any studying after youtake the test. What you want to do is toisolate “taking the test well” into amulti-step process that involves botheating your mac and cheese andwatching The Office as matter-of-factprecursors to the actual LSAT. Spendabout two weeks doing this until itbecomes a habit.

3. Beginning roughly two weeksbefore the test, slowly taper down yourzone-ins to processes that takeprogressively less time, but still retainthe essence of the experiences. Forexample, instead of cooking and eatingan entire box of mac and cheese, trymaking it the night before and reheatinga few spoonfuls in the microwave. Andafter you’ve done that, maybe cut itdown to a quick cold spoonful out ofthe fridge. And after that, maybe you

Continued from page 11 just need to smell it. Or if you’rewatching The Office, maybe instead ofwatching a full episode, you just watchthe opening 6 minutes of an episode. Andthen you cut it down to maybe a 2-minutewebisode. And then maybe you only needto hear the opening music or the soundof Michael Scott’s voice to make youthink, “I’m watching The Office.”

4. The final step is to take theseboiled-down essences of your zone-insand find a way to use them on the day ofthe test. Maybe before you leave thelocker room to enter the testing room, you eat a spoonful of mac and cheese outof a Ziploc bag and watch a webisode ofThe Office on your iPhone. Remember, these activities could be anything, as longas they reflect the feel and essence of youroriginal zone-ins and are done in theidentical order that you practiced andtapered. If you have done the processslowly, over at least a month, you willfind yourself walking into the testroom with confidence and scoring asif you were taking the test in your ownliving room.

Our alumni chapters and individualalumni members have done some reallyamazing things this year. Alumni havea different, but similar, set of awardapplications that they can submit aswell. It’s not too early to get theseapplications put together.

Each year, the InternationalExecutive Board looks forward toreceiving the various award applications. You have been making our job selectingthe winners increasingly difficult thepast few years. Keep up the good work!We look forward to hearing from you.

The funny thing about looking backat past accomplishments is that theprocess naturally leads the currentmembers and incoming officers to thinkabout what they want to achieve. So,for others, spring is the time to beginimplementing the legacy you will leave. Thus, we come full circle. The end iswhere we start. The end is really thebeginning. If you are an existing P.A.D.member, a newly elected Chapter officeror a brand new P.A.D. member, this isthe time to give your legacy a voice.

Fraternally,

Rhonda K. HillInternational Justice

much as it ended 2009 — by keeping true tothe core values of P.A.D. and presenting programswhich emphasize integrity, professionalism andservice. Our chapter has committed itself tobeing the leading service-oriented legalorganization in the greater Chicagoland area.

The chapter’s new year kicked-off on January8th with the third annual Vincent Vitullo Ethicsand Professionalism Seminar. This year’s seminarfocused on the new Illinois Rules for ProfessionalResponsibil ity and provided 4 hours ofcontinuing legal education for attorneys at anaffordable cost. Speakers included P.A.D. members Chief Judge James F. Holderman (US Dist. Ct., ND IL); Hon.Arnette Hubbard (IL Cir Ct.); Jayne Reardon (Ex.. Dir., IL Sup. Ct. Com. on Professionalism); and Russell Hartigan. Also speaking was Vincent Vitullo, Emeritus Professor at DePaul University College of Law, for whom the seminar isnamed. In addition to serving the legal community by providing an informative CLE program, proceeds of the eventwent towards the chapter’s Justice Daniel P. Ward Scholarship Fund and the Illinois Lawyer’s Assistance Program.Events like this are a win-win-win for the chapter, the fraternity and the community by funding scholarships for ourstudent brethren, carrying out our mission to serve the legal community, and providing a top-tier educational program for

attorneys.On January 20, 2010 our chapter

held an initiation in the courtroomof our brother and Honorary BoardChairman, Chief Judge JamesHolderman. As part of the annual celebration, the chapter awarded five scholarshipsto area P.A.D. law students as part of its Anthony A. DiGrazia scholarshipprogram. This year thefollowing Chicago-area P.A.D. Chapter members were recognized: MeaganWinnings (Blackstone), Heather Darsie (Dooley), Jennifer Anderson (Lincoln),

In a more solemn moment, the chapter conducted thefraternity’s RitualCommemorating a DeceasedMember, removing a chair fromthe chapter room in honor ofBrother John McCabe, a dearlydeparted brother lost in 2009.

The banquet concluded with the election of new chapter officers:Justice Joe Emmerth (Story), Vice Justice Vito Kirvelaitis (Magruder),Clerk B.J. Maley (Webster) , Treasurer Gloria C. PPPPPathway to Sathway to Sathway to Sathway to Sathway to Success!uccess!uccess!uccess!uccess!By Demontray Hawkins, V.P of Publicity AffairsAfter a year of planning, hard work and dedication, Towson

University students continue on their pathway to success bychartering a Phi Alpha Delta pre-law chapter at the University onApril 10, 2010. We will be initiating over 20 members into thenew chapter. One of the reasons we are so excited to becomeinitiated is because this is the first Pre-Law fraternity ever, here onthe Towson University Campus; history is being made!

In the early part of March, we held our first RecruitmentWeek. Events ranged from hosting a bingo nights and off-campusdinners to a night of bowling. We currently host LSAT prep meetings, which give prospective members experiencewith real LSAT questions and tutoring from members who have taken the exam. We also are planning to includeguest speakers in our meetings once a month to provide our chapter members with a real-life take on a student’s

life in law school as well as todiscover potential careers in law.Although we are only justbeginning, we have really grown inthe last year, and continue to strivedaily to encourage others to joinin with us.

As we wind down from all of theSpring Break hoopla, I am pretty surethat the first thing that comes to yourmind is: “finals!” Yes, that dreaded timeof the year when it’s time to buckledown and completely focus on readyingourselves for those all-too-importantlaw school exams.

Probably one of the first things thatcomes to mind when preparing for finalsis organization. Once you are organizedit is then easier to begin not only tostudy but to study efficiently. It isefficient study which is one of the mainaspects to exam success. So how doesone go about beginning theorganization process? Luckily there arenow many organizational tools that canassist with the process. But certainlyas a law student, and especially a 1Lyou will probably want to start withall of the cases you studied in class andto make sure that you have a completeunderstanding of the fact patterns, therules of law, and finally the reasoningas to how the rules came to be. Thenonce you have all of this informationin a concise format, you can make surethat your course outline includes themajor elements and understandingsfrom the cases you studied in class.

If you are uncertain as to where tostart or just need a little boost to getyourself going, probably the best placeto begin is with eCasebriefs.com. TheeCasebriefs.com web site has all of thecases in your casebook completelybriefed for you and each brief includesin the beginning a brief fact pattern

and the synopsis rule of law. Once youhave an understanding of the case thesetwo pieces of information are extremelyuseful for your efficient studyingpurposes. Now that you understandwhere you can obtain this informationthe next step is how to organize it allin an easy to review format. LuckilyeCasebriefs.com comes complete witha Library tool that allows you to linkthe briefs in the site with your ownprivate Library. To access your Librarysimply create a free account in the siteand log in. Once logged in, search forone of your cases and the brief willquickly appear complete with all IRACelements. Notice at the top of the briefare the words, Add to My Library, justunder the case name. Simply click onthese words once and this brief is nowcaptured in your private Library underthe course name. Now that you copieda brief into your Library you will wantto access it and maybe even add apr ivate note or two to fur thercustomize the br ie f to yourprofessor’s words.

Accessing your Library is a simpletask. Log into eCasebriefs.com. Oncelogged in notice at the bottom a bluebar appears. Click My Law Network, then Profile, and then Public. Noticenow that just below your Info is MyLibrary about half way down the page.As you copy briefs from the main siteto your Library you will notice thatcourses are created. Click the coursethat corresponds to brief you just addedand notice that the brief is now listed

in the order in which you added itto your Library. Click al l of thebriefs for your course and now youare well on your way to organizingfor your final exams.

At this point you may want tocustomize your brief with words fromyour professor. Again, a very easy taskwithin eCasebriefs.com. There are twoways to do this, however both waysrequire you to be logged into the site.Once logged in you may add your notesfrom the main site, or you may addyour notes from the briefs in yourLibrary. Either way just under the casename on the left margin are the words,Add Note. Simply click and a notewindow appears. In the note windowadd the notes you wish to each briefand click Add Note on the bottom ofthe window. Now your private note isstored and is associated with that brief. To access your notes is also very easy todo. Once you added a note you willsee a little yellow sticky icon next toAdd Note within the brief. This showsup whether you are in My Library orwithin the main site but only when youare logged in. Click the sticky note andyour private notes will appear just asyou entered them.

Now that you are organized andyour study content is easy to find andcan then be manipulated, you are readyto finalize your course outlines and getthe grade you deserve.
