    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Responsible To: Director of Fund Development

    Location: World Bureau, 12c Lyndhurst Road, London, NW3 5PQ

    Job Type: Full-time, 35 hours per week. Permanent

    Salary: Salary 40,000 - 45,000 per annum

    Main Purpose of Job:

    To work with the Director of Fund Development to develop and implement strategicpartnership with corporate supporters and institutional funders.

    To undertaking new business research in order to secure new corporate and institutionalpartners and maximise funding opportunities.

    To recruit new supporters by establishing contact, preparing creative, high impact and tailoredproposals/bids and making face to face presentations.

    To ensure effective donor care for existing and new donors as assigned.

    To maintain and develop information systems to support new business activity and overallresults against financial and non-financial objectives.

    To represent the Fund Development Department at fundraising events and other networkingevents related to new business development

    To optimise income by working with Director of Fund Development and Fund DevelopmentTeam on income generation and relationship management towards our 10m Global GirlsFund target for 2009-2014.

    Key Responsibilities:

    The Head of Strategic Partnerships will undertake the following activities:

    Work towards personal, measurable Fund Development income targets agreed with theDirector of Fund Development.

    Generate income from corporate and institutional donors.

    Income generation activity includes:

    Donor mapping/Research

    Written proposal development, including compiling budgets

    Meeting representatives of Corporate and Institutional Funding bodies

    Delivery of the entire donor cycle: approach, report and cultivation.

    Contribute to, and help implement the annual Fund Development Operational Plan.

    Develop and cultivate contacts at a high level with companies and international funding

    bodies with a view to generating funds.

    Participate in implementation of all aspects of the Fund Development strategy, work plan,target and goal setting, initiatives and events.

    Work with senior volunteers in WAGGGS, providing updates and attending meetings wheninvited. Work with the World Board, Fund Development Committee, Regional and WorldCentres Committees to provide documents and presentations as required.

    Work with other departments to identify fund development opportunities and to help developintegrated programmes that provide budget relieving income and new sources of unrestrictedfunding to WAGGGS.

    Assist Fund Development colleagues in the production of materials for Fund Development,including Case for Support documents, presentations and other materials for Fundraising.Work within the context of the Global Girls Fund.

    PERSON SPECIFICATION

    COMPETENCY

    Qualifications andExperience

    Educated to degree level or equivalent.

    Proven successful track record in raising funds for both coreactivities as well as special projects.

    Proven successful track record in either corporate or institutionalfundraising

    Demonstrable success in developing relationships with potentialdonors.

    Experience of working in more than one country.

    SKILLS

    IT

    Administrative

    Excellent computer literacy; MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,Outlook and Internet applications) is essential.

    Database experience is desirable.

    Excellent administration and organizational skills is essential.

    Language Fluency in English, with French and/or Spanish and/or Arabic anadvantage but not essential.

    Communication Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with theability to use them in informing, presenting, and report writing for awide range of stakeholder communities.

    Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

    ATTITUDES

    An appreciation of different cultures and the ability to implementequal opportunities in all aspects of work.

    OTHER

    TERMS AND CONDITIONS

    Salary: Salary 40,000 45,000 per annum.

    Contract Term: Permanent.

    Probationary Period: Six months.

    Annual Leave: 26 days per annum, excluding statutory bank holidays.

    Group Life Scheme: Immediate membership of scheme which provides insurance cover offour times annual salary in the event of death in service.

    Pension: Group Stakeholder Pension Plan: Employers contribution of 8%,employees contribution of 5%. Employees will be eligible foremployers contribution on successful completion of probation period.All employees can make personal contributions, deducted from pay,to the scheme from day one irrespective of whether they qualify forthe employer contribution.

    Season Ticket Loan: Available at end of probation period.

    Relocation Expenses: Assistance with relocation is provided, if necessary.

    Childcare Voucher Scheme: Available from beginning of contract.

    Please note; work permits are required for potential employees from outside the European

    Economic area (EEA). The Home Office does issue Work Permits, but with some restrictionsfor candidates from outside the EEA.
