Haryana’s first cyber police station was inaugurated in Gurugram, to facilitate registration of cyber offence related

cases.

First cyber police station of Haryana established in Gurugram:

CEO of Gurugram Metropolitan DevelopmentAuthority, V Umashankar along with SandeepKhirwar, Commissioner of Police, Gurugram,inaugurated the cyber police station at DLF office inGurugram.

The building for the cyber police station has beenprovided by DLF in Phase 5. The cyberpolice stationhas sufficient number of trained manpower already.

Government announces launch of ‘SUVIDHA’ under PMBJP

Ananthkumar, Union Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers and

Parliamentary Affairs, announced the launch of ‘Suvidha’, the 100% Oxo-

biodegradable Sanitary Pad.

Suvidha:

The ‘Suvidha’ napkin is launched under thePradhan Mantri Bhartiya JanaushadhiPariyojana (PMBJP). They will be availableat all Janaushadhi Kendras in India by 28May 2018 (World Menstrual Hygiene Day).

The ‘Suvidha’ pads will be offered for Rs.2.50 per pad. They can be availed at morethan 3200 Janaushadhi Kendras.

This has been introduced to ensure ‘Swachhta,Swasthya and Suvidha’ for the underprivilegedwomen of India. This initiative has been taken bythe Department of Pharmaceuticals.

Mansukh Lal Mandaviya, Minister of State forChemicals & Fertilizers, Road Transport &Highways, Shipping, said that, a special substanceis incorporated in the Suvidha napkin. It makesthe napkin biodegradable when it reacts withoxygen after it is used and disposed.

Ministry of Power launches National E-Mobility Programme in India

R K Singh, Union Minister of State (IC) Power and New & Renewable Energy,

launched the National E-Mobility Programme in India.

National E-Mobility Programme:

The National E-Mobility Programme hasbeen introduced to improve the e-mobilityecosystem that comprises vehiclemanufacturers, charging infrastructurecompanies, fleet operators, serviceproviders, etc.

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) willimplement the National E-MobilityProgramme.

EESL will procure electric vehicles in hugenumbers. The electric vehicles will replace theexisting petrol and diesel vehicles.

EESL had procured 10,000 e-vehicles in 2017.Soon it will release a new tender for 10,000 moree-vehicles.India would save more than 5 crorelitres of fuel annually through these e-vehicles.This would result in reduction of more than 5.6lakh tonnes of annual CO2 emission.

For an electric car, the per kilometer cost is only85 paisa. Whereas, it is Rs 6.5 for normal cars.This will help to reduce petroleum imports.

R K Singh said that, India aims to develop withthe motto – “Healthier world, healthier country”,and the long term goal to leave behind a betterworld.

RBI slaps Rs 40 lakh penalty on SBI for flouting fake note norms

RBI (Reserve Bank of India) has imposed a penalty of Rs 40 lakh on SBI (State

Bank of India) as SBI failed to comply with RBI’s directions on detection and

impounding of counterfeit notes.

RBI slaps Rs 40 lakh penalty on SBI for flouting fake note norms:

RBI has stated that, it detected deficiencies on SBI’spart in regulatory compliance with counterfeit notenorms.

RBI had inspected currency chests of two SBI branchesand found that its instructions on detection andimpounding of counterfeit notes had been violated.

After going through SBI’s reply and oral submissionsduring the personal hearing, RBI confirmed charges ofnon-compliance with its directions/guidelines andimposed a penalty of Rs 40 lakh on SBI.

Indian-origin steel tycoon Sanjeev Gupta has been appointed by Britain’s Prince Charles as an official ambassador for

the Industrial Cadets programme designed to nurture manufacturing

skills.

Gupta was appointmentto the flagship programmeto give children and youngpeople direct structuredexperience of industrywhile still at school orcollege.

The Industrial Cadets programme, whichcurrently involves more than 15,000 youngstersacross the UK, was set up at the behest of thePrince of Wales seven years ago after he visitedsteel plants at Teesside in north-east England.

ITBP appoints Prakriti as first woman officer in

combat role

Prakriti has become the first woman to be

directly inducted as combat officer into the

ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police).

Prakriti – first woman officer in combat role in ITBP:

Prakriti is 25 years old. She has a bachelor’sdegree in electrical engineering. She had clearedthe UPSC exam for officers’ recruitment in CAPFs(Central Armed Police Forces) in her first attempt.

She is now based in an ITBP unit in Pithoragarh,Uttarakhand. Soon she will join the Officers’Training Academy of ITBP in Dehradun.

ITBP has women in combat roles already. But theyare present in constable ranks only. Prakriti is thefirst woman officer in combat role in ITBP.

In 2016, the government permitted the CAPFs to induct women officers in combat roles. ITBP is one of the five CAPFs.

Indian shooter Anjum Moudgil clinched a silver medal in the women’s 50m Rifle 3

Positions event at the ongoing ISSF World Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico. It was Anjum’s first World Cup medal. Former junior world champion China’s Ruijiao Pei won the Gold

Medal in that event.

This was India’s eighthmedal in the competitionand the first silver. Indiathus remained on top ofthe medals tally witheight medals, while Chinais in second with twogold, two silver, onebronze.
