PRESS KIT HEADQUARTER Headquarters that reflect the Group’s corporate values and evolution: technology, home automation and energy efficiency Completed in late 2012, the refurbished historic Comelit Group SpA headquarters, in San Lorenzo di Rovetta, Bergamo, has more than 5,000 sqm under cover, and is intended to underline the close links between the company and the local area. The refurbishment project was designed by Comelit Group SpA to give its offices a new, more modern and attractive image, in line with its profile and its expansion over recent years in international markets. This is reflected in the facade facing Via don Arrigoni, composed of two wings featuring black zinc-titanium horizontal beams which converge on the centrally located glass frontage of the new hall. In front of the zinc-titanium facades are 9 angled white steel columns, which make the building stand out in the mostly natural surroundings of the Val Seriana. In contrast, the large mirrored frontage of the office module reflects the peaks of the Orobic Prealps. The heart of the project is the imposing entrance hall, with its glass facade supported by a spider-like frame, which gives an unobstructed view through from the road of the large garden filling the space between the buildings. It is here, in the hall, that the glass and steel spiral stairway gives access to the new guest reception and staff leisure facilities. The hall and stairway thus connect the two old buildings, which have themselves been expanded with meeting rooms and offices and completely refurbished in terms of both layout and infrastructure. The new offices have transparent walls to promote natural lighting, as well as giving a sensation of liberty to their occupants. The furnishings were designed by Carlo Scarpa. The flooring exploits the unique benefits of tatami mats: soft, sound-absorbing, and with a strong material presence. At the centre of the structure is a conference hall with space for 60 participants, showcasing Comelit products, which can be adjusted with dimmers and colour and brightness settings to create different atmospheres according to the context and occasion. The centre of the structure also houses an automated home, the “SimpleHome”, with kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedrooms, designed to demonstrate the features and benefits of Comelit products to clients and suppliers. The project also features the most recent technologies and structural techniques in relation to energy saving: the large photovoltaic system on the roof contributes to reducing electrical power consumption, while all mechanical systems use the most modern technologies, and the external walls and roof are fully insulated. The architecture and structural engineering aspects of the project were designed by Studio Associato di Ingegneria e Urbanistica Ing. Capoferri Giobattista - Ing. Barzasi Gian Franco, which also directed the construction together with Studio Tecnico Balduzzi Severino. Architect Pietro Angelo Oprandi directed the interior design project.

Comelit research and development Innovation is part of Comelit Group SpA’s DNA. It is no coincidence that Comelit has played a leading role in the history of door entry monitors, to which it has gradually added CCTV, intrusion detection and, most recently, home automation. This history of growth is testified to by hundreds of thousands of installations worldwide, and in the most varied settings: from individual homes to apartment blocks, from corporate offices and railway stations to airports, museums, shopping centres and office and service centres. Comelit’s research centre is constantly engaged in new projects and in defining production quality procedures, the outcome of the most advanced synergies between man and technology.

Comelit’s Automated Home To offer our clients the possibility of experiencing directly and in full the benefits of Comelit technology for the home: this is the meaning of the automated home housed at the refurbished Comelit Group SpA plant in Rovetta, open to all visitors. The exhibit is a genuine home, divided into four interior areas (kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom) featuring all of Comelit’s most innovative technologies, integrated with the automated home controller. From variable lighting colour and brightness to controlled emission of aromas and perfumes, from automated domestic appliances to climate control: the automated home technology used in the Comelit House demonstrates how simple and gratifying it can be to tune a home’s scenarios and atmospheres to match one’s needs and desires.

Comelit Training SchoolThe Comelit Training School at Rovetta runs training and refresher courses created by the company, to continuously grow professionalism in the electrical installation industry. The opportunities for growth offered by the Comelit Training School are intended for both installers and architects, designers and construction industry professionals. The stand out feature of the courses, seminars and other activities at the Comelit Training School

is the combination of theory and practice, which expands the student’s professional know-how and ability to consult with the client, all in the interests of increased competitivity.
