Office of Community Services

Office of Community Services (OCS) partners with states, communities and agencies to eliminate causes of poverty, increase self-sufficiency of individuals and families and revitalize communities.

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a grant that provides funds to 50 States, D.C., 5 territories, and approximately 150 tribes to assist low-income households with home energy costs. Focus on children and elderly who are especially vulnerable to

negative health outcomes due to insufficient home heating and cooling.
