Course Aim
The main aim of this unique hands-on training course is to provide trainees with an engineering background with a powerful combination of tools and theory that allows them to assess, review, and modify various hospital designs and plans, and provide training to others in the same field.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:
1) Describe the different levels of healthcare referral systems and the type of technology support that each requires.
2) Explain the general nature and critical aspects of hospital building services.
3) Understand the underlying concepts in Hospital Design and planning
4) Benchmark Design compliance with International Standards and Guidelines
5) Perform the role of the medical planner (Given enough background in Biomedical Engineering and Computer Aided Design tools).
Note: Given the complexity of hospitals as technology-intensive structures and the phenomenal variety of medical devices, it is impossible to cover all medical departments in one course. Although case studies abound, they should not be considered as comprehensive.
