The OET Preparation course is designed to assist overseas healthcare professionals prepare for the language and communication skills necessary in a variety of clinical contexts.The course focuses on improving students’ language skills (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) as well as sub-skills (Pronunciation, Vocabulary, Grammar, Writing conventions, and Punctuation) in their particular professional situations and increasing their chances of passing the Occupational English Test (OET). While practice tests are of benefit, they are not sufficient on their own to prepare students for the exam; therefore, the course also:• Recreates an exam room environment to help students adjust to a test setting• Helps students prepare for a medical workplace in Australia• Teaches exam skills and tips for each of the four OET exams• Provides feedback and individual training plans from a trained OET teacher• Offers plenty of practice materials

The Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community) course provides students with a holistic approach to caring for the Older People within our community. This course is designed to equip students with the skills to provide physical and social support to elderly individuals and people in hostels, group homes and community settings.The course also aims to provide students with the knowledge, skills and values required to perform competently as professional Health Care Workers. This group of professionals are expected to carry out activities to maintain personal care and/or other activities of living for people in an aged care setting. This qualification addresses work primarily in residential facilities under direct or regular supervision within clearly defined organisation guidelines and service plans. The course structure is designed to ensure a balance between theory and practice.*Available for local students only

The Diploma of Nursing course includes contemporary nursing knowledge, nursing practice and attainment of NMBA Enrolled Nurses Standards for Practice (2016) at graduate level. The primary focus of the Diploma of Nursing Program consists of professional, evidence-based and contemporary nursing practice with the central focus being the provision of patient-centred individualised nursing care assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of care provided. The context of the nine national health priority areas – cancer control, cardiovascular health, injury prevention and control, mental health, diabetes, asthma, arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions, obesity and dementia - are addressed in acute and chronic care, palliative, rehabilitation, aged care and mental health within the program.**ANMAC approval is pending

Students undertaking this program will be exposed to the theory and values base of human services practice, as well as the knowledge and necessary skills required to work as a professional at a managerial level in the community services sector. Students will have the necessary foundation knowledge and skills in community services management to continue to a relevant post-graduate higher education program at a university or a private higher education provider.

The Diploma of Community Services aims to provide students with skills in consultation, community program development, group work, advocacy, case management, policy, and research.
