How We Operated

• Antiquated Wi-Fi only Fujitsu tablets for remote reporting

• Reporting – combination home-grown Excel & Word docs and paper forms

• VPN connectivity from hotspot or staff member’s home

Challenges: − Rural geography with poor connectivity

− Serious HIPAA compliance vulnerabilities

− Excessive travel costs

− Delayed submissions of reporting & billing

Our Vision

• Improve the mobilization of our workforce

• Increase efficiency of mobile reporting

• Reduce operational costs

• Meet & maintain HIPAA compliance

Initial Solutions: − Hosted client management software solution

− iPads utilizing Verizon LTE Network

− Microsoft Office for iPad

− Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution

Pilot – Phase I

• Acquired 20 iPads from Verizon

• Utilized Verizon LTE Network

• Defined management, security, and control requirements for iPads

• Implemented Globo’s MDM solution

Conclusion: Success!

iPads demonstrated successful connectivity

Management & security requirements met

Immediate acceptance of iPads by all testing end users

Pilot – Phase I – What We Learned

Following Phase I, we identified the following requirements:

Separation of business-related data from native data on the iPad

Providing end users secure access & edit capabilities to CenClear shared files

Ensuring a positive and acceptable end user experience

Pilot – Phase II

• Implemented Globo’s Secure Workspace solution

• Utilized Microsoft Excel & Word on iPad

Conclusion: Not so much…

Security of company Email & PIM data met

− Excel & Word docs NOT viable on iPad

− Unhappy end users

Pilot – Phase II – What We Learned

Following Phase II, we identified the following requirements:

Creation of proprietary forms application solution to replace Excel & Word

Host forms application inside Globo’s Secure Workspace solution
