86 HEALTH SCIENCE Health Science is designed for students who have a passion or a desire for a career pathway in the health industry, with parcular focus on nutrion, fitness and healthcare. It is open to students in year 11 and 12 and run as SACE stage 1 and 2 subjects. The purpose of the subject is to provide holisc learning opportunies for students to excel in a health science seng. As a health science professional, your career opportunies are extremely varied. There are many opportunies for health professionals in federal, state and local government, the not-for-profit sector, private enterprise and at a very grass-roots level in community agencies. You could also work in health agencies, hospitals, universies and health research instutes. Potenal Career Pathways include; Diecian Exercise Physiologist Occupaonal Therapist Podiatry Psychologist (Sport) Chiropractor Speech Pathologist Physical Educaon Teacher Physiotherapy Students will gain knowledge in focus areas of Human Anatomy and Physiology, Psychology and Healthcare (Diet and Nutrion) along with career development to support them in their progression to pursue a career within the health industry. The program will include working with students and staff from UniSA that will allow access to the clinics for performance tesng. Selected clinics will align to the students’ pathway, including Dietecs, Exercise Physiology, High Performance, Occupaonal Therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry and Psychology. This subject ensures to provide the learning required for terary degrees, such as Bachelor or Health Science, Bachelor of Human Movement, Exercise Sport Science and Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology, offered via UniSA. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Students interested in taking part in this program must have completed the following: Grade point average of C grade or above at host school Current CV and Interview PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS 80% or above actual aendance Adherence to student Code of Conduct Grade point average of C grade or above INDICATIVE COSTING Use of UniSA, Whyalla and Adelaide community facilies on campus $350.
