Healthcare Workforce Development Academy Candidate Profile The Healthcare Workforce Development Academy is an intensive 18-month peer learning program that provides technical assistance and training to support the implementation of sustainable workforce programs. The Academy is designed for organizational leaders with direct responsibility and authority to implement sustainable programs for frontline healthcare workers. Job titles of qualified candidates will vary by organizational role. For example, an appropriate title might be Workforce Development Specialist, Director of Talent Acquisition, Human Resources Executive, or Program Manager or Strategist. Each participating organization may select up to two representatives to participate in the Academy. One participant must be a healthcare employer staff member; the second participant may be an additional staff member or a representative from a community-based organization or healthcare workforce partnership. All participants will agree to participate in all Academy activities including three in-person convenings, contribution to the community of practice, attendance at virtual learning activities, and timely completion of project deliverables. Ideal candidates must have decision making authority within their organization, senior leadership support for frontline workforce development, and willingness to learn best practices for designing and implementing a workforce development initiative. They should have interest in conducting an impact analysis to support ongoing organizational investment, drive to further develop organizational infrastructure to sustain programming, and capacity to regularly engage with and learn from peers about approaches and strategies that promote best practices. Ideal candidates are also seeking professional development opportunities and advancement in their field. As a result of participating in the Academy, participants are expected to apply the lessons lead organizational change to advance the skills and careers of frontline healthcare workers. Each employer will be asked to complete the following: Pre/post Academy self-assessment to track progress and technical assistance A high-level action plan to address identified issue(s) Two progress reports Evaluation activities After the conclusion of the Academy, employers and participating staff members will have multiple options for ongoing engagement with the CareerSTAT network. The Academy is an initiative of CareerSTAT and National Fund for Workforce Solutions. Major funding is provided by Lumina Foundation.
