Osteoporosis A Silent Debilitating Disease
Osteoporosis – A serious silent disease often without systems.
In the United States 10 million Americans [80% are women] already have osteoporosis and millions more have low bone mass.
Of the 5.1 million women age 65 or older in the United States, it is estimated that nearly 72% received neither a bone mineral density test nor treatments in 2001.
Osteoporosis is not an age specific disease. According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, 1.5
million fractures are associated with osteoporosis each year. Osteoporotic Fractures – The debilitation center and cost
center of the disease of osteoporosis.
