And it is not going down
Why are we getting bigger?
1980 statistics
5% of children considered obese
93% of children exercised at least 60 minutes daily
35% of families had gardens
Average time spent in front of T.V. was 60 minutes
Percentage of type 2 diabetes in children 6.5%
2010 statistics
15% of children considered obese
70% of children exercised at least 60 minutes a day
75% of children eat 0-2 servings a day of vegetables
Average time spent using media platforms (TV, internet, social networking, video games..etc) is 3 hours
