The smartHome solutions by Bellman & Symfon deliver special signals to Siemens wireless hearing aids, alerting the wearer in a number of critical situations. Through specially designed easy-to-install sensors, transmitters and monitor, the system enhances the safety and independence of the Siemens hearing aid wearer and loved ones. The smartHome solutions are a small footprint, and energy-efficient technology that leverage the smart connectivity of Siemens wireless hearing instruments to transmit signals directly to the hearing aids via the easyTek wireless streamer: • When a phone is ringing

The smartHome begins with the smartHub, a plug-in that connects Siemens smartHearing aids to smartHome sensors, transmitters and monitors via easyTek, so wearers can hear special signals from phones, doors and other important alerts.

The smartCare package includes the smartHub, a room monitor and push button transmitter. When activated by the smartHub, the room monitor sends a signal to the hearing aids and can be adjusted for sensitivity and delay. The push-button transmitter, used by a loved one, can alert the hearing aid wearer in times of need and can be worn with a lanyard. Additional accessories to enhance these packages are available and include a smoke alarm and an alarm clock. The smoke alarm works with the smartHub to transmit light, sound or vibration to indicate an emergency; the alarm clock allows the wearer to choose to wake up to an extra loud/audible alarm, high-intensity flashing lights or a bed shaker.

The smartAlert package includes the smartHub, a doorbell monitor and telephone monitor. When activated via the smartHub, these monitors alert the hearing aid wearer via sound signal. The doorbell monitor can be programmed to recognize virtually any doorbell sound; the telephone monitor can be used to detect a landline and mobile phone.

Step 1:

• Put easyTek around your patient’s neck.

• Turn easyTek on by pressing 1 until the green LED 5 turns on.

Step 2:

• Put the hearing instruments into the ears and turn them on.

• The green LED 5 flashes briefly and then slowly fades.

• Now the hearing aids are paired.

Bluetooth-enabled devices

Step 1:

• Turn easyTek on by pressing and holding 1 for several seconds.

• Press 1 and 2 simultaneously until the blue LED 4 flashes.

Step 2:

• Turn on the device’s Bluetooth function.

• Search for easyTek and select it.

• The blue LED 4 flashes briefly and then slowly fades.

Transmitter

Step 1:

• Turn easyTek on by pressing and holding 1 for several seconds.

• Press 1 and 2 and 3 simultaneously until the blue LED 4 and the green LED 5 flash.

Step 2:

• Turn the transmitter on within 1 m of easyTek and wait for the pairing to complete. This takes approximately 2 minutes.

• The blue LED 4 will stop flashing and remain on.
