A Foolish Heart

• They became futile by the things they did… Romans 1:21-22, 18-20

• Disbelief in God makes one this… Ps. 53:1

• Rich man lived this way… Luke 12:15-21

• Mt. 6:19-21

Evil Heart

• Causes departure from God Heb. 3:1, 12 – A child of God can fall and depart from God

• Solution: Overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21

Impenitent Heart• One who will not repent… Romans 2:5

• It is caught up in hardness (not love) a symptom of worldliness… 1 Jn. 2:15-17

• Many won’t repent, not willing to give up their lifestyles, see the need, let God make life right. God’s word is the only thing that can save… Rom. 1:16; Heb. 4:12; 1 Tim.1:15; Isa. 55:11

Uncircumcised Heart

• Some were this way in their heart and ears Acts 7:51-60

• They hated Stephen because he told the Truth. V.55; Heb. 12:2

• Need to be a new creation Gal 6:15; 2 Cor. 5:17; Col. 2:11

Troubled Heart

• Do you want to be with Jesus? Jn. 14:1-3

• In verse 27 we see another part of the prescription to remedy this problem.

• What can help a troubled heart? Phil. 4:4-8

Overcharged Heart

• Weighed down with the vices of this world

• Some think they’re so deep in sin, and can’t be changed. Oh so wrong! Lk. 21:34

• With men impossible, with God all things are possible. Mark 10:27

Let the Healing Begin

• Please take an honest look at your heart today. As you see your hearts’ condition will you acknowledge it? It’s easy to apply God’s prescription to make it right. It will do no good just to have it in your hand, one must apply it into your life (swallow it).

If You’re Not a Christian• Realize now is the time to start you life

with God. Mt. 7:21; 17:5; Heb. 5:9• Begin today by… Hearing and believing the

Gospel of Christ. 1 Cor. 15:3-4

– Repent of sinful living. Acts 2:38

Is There A Doctor In The House? Mark 2:17

• Jesus is the great physician!

• He can help us. Phil. 4:13

• As in physical life, if we don’t take care of our spiritual heart we will die!

• Let us listen to God’s word for the prescription for a healthy heart.

The Applied Heart

• This heart has hope! Proverbs 23:12– Some just let it in one ear and out the

other…– We must use diligence to please God.

Heb. 11:6

• God’s instruction is found in Psalm 90:12.

The Deceived Heart

• Others can deceive us. Eph. 5:6

• We can deceive ourselves. James 1:22

• Be not deceived. Galatians 6:7

• The devil has deceived (to cause them to stray) those in the world don’t let him get you too! Revelation 12:9

The Discouraged Heart

• Discouragement will come. Numbers 32:9; 2 Peter 3:3

• Don’t just fall away! There is a remedy.

• You doing this? 1 Thes. 5:11, 14

• Assembling? Heb. 10:24-25; 12:2– Don’t have to be discouraged, get

encouraged in doing your duty!

The Blinded Heart

• Satan will use anything to keep you from seeing the Truth. 2 Cor. 4:4; John 12:40

• Jesus is the light that allows us to see, He opens our eyes. Acts 26:18; John 8:12

Enlarged Heart

• Physically it’s a bad thing, but spiritually it’s good. 2 Cor. 6:11-13

• What about those we don’t agree with? 1 Cor. 13:4 Don’t Criticize, put down, ought to Uplift

• Always seeks Peace Romans 12:18; 14:19; Heb 12:14

A Pure Heart

• It is blessed (happy). Matthew 5:8

• To purify your hearts! James 4:8

• Love fervently with it… 1 Pet. 1:22

• Purified by faith! Acts 15:9; Rom. 10:17

Honest and Good Heart

• Kind of heart God wants us to have! Luke 8:11-15– Wants us to hear the word, keep it, and

bear fruit with patience…

• He wants all to be saved and have a full knowledge of the Truth! 1 Tim. 2:3-4

• Not willing that any perish… 2 Peter 3:9

Conclusion:

• Did you see your heart in any of these examples?

• Are you in need of a heart change-over, or repair? Jesus can help! Mark 2:17
