Small Group HomeworkLook over the following questions and be prepared to discuss them with your group.

Discussion With Each Other

1. Relay to the group about a time when you either completely misunderstood someone or were misunderstood by someone else. How did this misunderstanding affect your relationship? Was the misunderstanding ever cleared up? Can be a humorous story or not.

Discussion About God's Word

2. How did Pastor Brian describe the Trinity in his Sunday sermon? Whatdid he say about the unity and community enjoyed within the Trinity?

3. What are some of the most confusing aspects or questions you have encountered about the Trinity? Does anyone in the group have answers?

4. As a group, look up the following passages from the Bible and write down the main point(s) of each.

Deuteronomy 6:4 __________________________________________

John 1:1___________________________________________________

John 4:26 __________________________________________________

II Corinthians 13:14 _________________________________________

5. Unity and community are at the heart of the Godhead of the Trinity. Jesus invites us to share in that community with God. How did Pastor Brian describe this? Hint: John 15:9 "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love."

6. Pastor Brian related our living in community with God to the message of Christmas. How can we this Christmas, in the midst of the hustle and bustle, take practical steps to make this truth part of our holiday?

7. We not only can share community with God, we share community with each other because of God. List some ways our church lives out unity and community well.

8. How could we better live out unity and community as a church?

9. How about our small group? What do we do well and how could we improve in living out unity and community as a group?
