I am now fishing Halo rods and I am proud to be promoting a great rod from a local company right here on world famous Lake Okeechobee. The Twilite series rods will be a great addition to the already top of the line equipment that I have on my boat. I love the extreme sensitivity, unparalleled strength and weight, advanced micro guide technology that are braided line resistant, unmatched casting distance, and precisely engineered rod actions that these rods offer. I will also be using the Daylite series on Okeechobee and the all new Inshore series for my saltwater trips. All the equipment they make at HALO Fishing is made with the idea that they are making the very best products to get the job done. We work very closely and listen to our pro staff in the design process to ensure we offer them the best equipment to get their job done on the water. If you are thinking about a new fishing rod you owe it to yourself to check out Halo Rods. www.halofishing.com

THANKSGIVINGBy Ron Lambert
As I am writing these words on October 14, many, many thoughts are running through my mind as how I might best express the thoughts that I feel compelled to share. I will "rst state that I am a concerned citizen of these United States with a growing fear regarding the decline of our great Country. !ere are of course many contributing factors that have led us here, but the greatest of these faults is very likely apathy on our own part.
While we are on the subject of what is wrong and what we might change, consider carefully your own and your families position regarding the following gradual and subtle changes in regards to good old American family centered Holidays.

Transport of fire ants in baled hay poses enough of a risk that specific regulations exist to help prevent the spread of this introduced pest through the movement of hay. Hay that has been stored on the ground in areas known to have fire ants (the defined ‘quarantine area’ includes all the gulf states, extending as far north as southern Arkansas, Tennessee and South Carolina) may NOT be taken out of this area without an APHIS inspection and permit. If you buy baled forage out of this region to feed in a non-infected area, you should do this simple test: place an attractant such as peanut butter or syrup on a card on the bale’s surface, and check in an hour or so. If ants are present, contact your local Extension office for definitive identification. For more information, check out: www.aphis.gov/ BaledHayIndustryAlert.pdf

I keep our land productive.
I am Mosaic. Before we begin any mining for phosphate — an essential crop nutrient for growing food — Mosaic develops a government-approved plan for restoring the land to productive use after mining. As reclamation supervisor, I oversee the creation of wetlands, parks, wildlife habitats, and other areas for both people and wildlife to enjoy. Knowing I’m helping to preserve nature makes my work more than a job.
Actually, it’s nothing short of a mission.
