Divide the class into pairs and tell preteens to talk with each other about the strangest gifts they’ve received, the most useful gifts they’ve received, and the most fun gifts they’ve received. When pairs are finished, let preteens share with the group what their partners said about the gifts they’ve received. Then SAY: Most of us love to get gifts! But do you know what’s even better? Giving gifts! Let’s dig into God’s Word to find out who gave the best gift ever.

What’s the best gift you’ve ever received? When singer Taylor Swift was asked that question, she said the best gift she ever received was an olive tree that her boyfriend planted in her yard. Jeff Kinney, author of the Wimpy Kid books, says his best gift was a huge gorilla statue. Chris Pratt, star of Guardians of the Galaxy, says the nicest gift he ever received was a piano from his wife and son. Daisy Ridley, who plays Jen on Star Wars: The Force Awakens, says the best gift she ever received was an R2-D2 suitcase full of The Force Awakens toys. “Thank you Disney and Lucasfilm for the best toy box anyone could ever have!!!” she posted on Facebook. “AHHH SO EXCITING. I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!!! I’M A TOY!!!”
