What is Manna?

• Exodus 16:14-15:– Small, round

thing– Came with the

dew• Exodus 16:31

– White– Tasted like

“wafers made with honey”

– Called “what is it?”

What is Manna?

• Preparation of manna:– They were to gather

“an homer for every man” (Exodus 16:16)

– They were to dispose of the leftovers (16:19)

– They were to gather 2x on day six (16:22-26)

– They could grind, beat and bake, or boil it (16:23; Numbers 11:8)

How is Manna A Type of Jesus?

John 6:30-32 They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work? Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

Manna came down from
