Message from Rev. Cinda Welcome to the New Year! There’s something about the beginning of the New Year which brings renewed hope for new and wonderful possibilities. My hope for this New Year 2016 is not in a resolution but in the prayer Peter wrote in his letter which we know as ‘Second Peter.’ Peter prayed for all believers everywhere that they would ‘grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.(2 Peter 3:18) No matter what our age, there is always the opportunity to grow closer in relationship with the Lord. Every day, whether we are nine or ninety, we have the chance to learn more about God’s will and God’s plan and follow God more and more faithfully with our lives. I’m so grateful that this past year we have had the opportunity to go back and review the beginnings of our faith history through The Story. I know that many of us studying The Story have enjoyed God’s grace in learning new spiritual truth. I can see that many of us have grown in the knowledge of God’s purpose through seeing God’s ‘Big Story’ in new ways. Even though our journey through The Story will come to an end in April, the good news is that our journey in faith never needs to come to an end. I hope that you consider joining us for a study on ‘Prayer,’ Sunday evenings during Lent and continue to deepen in your walk with the Lord. My prayer for Hebron Church is that together we continue to ‘grow’ closer and closer to our Lord -by His grace and by His Word, guided by His Holy Spirit. Blessings in our Lord for 2016! Rev. Deacons Deliver Thanksgiving Dinner to our Homebound

The Deacons committee wanted to do something a little different this year for Thanksgiving. They decided on making a complete Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings and deliver them to our homebound members. At first we were going to buy dinners from a local restaurant until Bernice heard about it and volunteered to make the dinners at her house. It was a joint effort from all the Deacons. The Wednesday before Thanksgiving we all met at the Litvak’s house and prepared the meals to be delivered. Joyce made her wonderful rolls, and also made homemade pot holders to include with every dinner. Phyllis made homemade apple and pumpkin pies. Charlotte helped with the finishing touches and with delivery of the meals. Hap and Joyce also delivered meals. We would like to thank Robbie for volunteering to help us with a few deliveries. It was a fun time working together to pull off this wonderful meal .

Charlie’s Helpful Hints 1. Feeling hungry brush

your teeth. Your brain thinks you just got done eating a meal.

2. Need a dust pan, cut a paper plate in half.

3. To heat small dishes in microwave with a turntable put dish closer to edge of turntable. Microwave heats from outside of turntable in.

4. Before putting coffee in thermos run hot water in thermos. This heats inside of thermos and keeps coffee hotter.

5. When throwing away a 9 volt battery put tape across top, there is still enough power left to start a fire if top comes in contact with foil.
