Hello, as most of you know Snow Leopard is coming out in a month. Its

well supported for Macs, but hey why not PC's? Well thats about to change.

Thanks to a couple people from the net to make it possible. Here is a quick

guide to help you get up to date with latest release of Snow Leopard on PC

in its 64 bit gloryness.

What you will need

1. A gigabyte motherboard featuring a P45 Chipset and at least an ALC889a

Codec (Works best on this motherboard, but you can experiment)

2. A Blank GUID Formatted hdd, and an already installed Leopard/Tiger

Drive.

3. A DMG of Snow Leopard 10A432 (Gold Master)

4. The Snow Leopard Package

Pre Snow Leopard

1. Open Disk Utility, and click on the drive you want Snow Leopard to be

installed on.

2. Once you have selected the Drive, Click on the "Partition" Tab, Select 1

Partition from the Drop Down menu. Then Click options and GUID

Partition Table.

3. After that name your drive to "Snow" YOU HAVE TO OR ELSE DMG

WONT WORK. Which drive is which.

4. Let it format, and you have completed. The formatting part.

Installation

1. Mount your Snow Leopard DMG File.

2. Click on the windows where your Snow Leopard DMG Opened.

3. Press CMD + Shift + G. to go to a specific folder.

4. Type in W/O Quotes "Mac OS X Install

DVD/System/Installation/Packages/

5. Navigate to OSInstall.mpkg

6. Go through the options and select your drive you want to install it to.

Deselect all the stuff you don't need like Printers. Languages. Etc..

7. After its done installing. Don't Reboot!!

Modified Files Installation

1. First open the DMG I have included in this guide.

2. The Open "Bootloader2.dmg or recommended bootloader" and Install it

to your "Snow" Drive (The Drive Snow Leopard was installed to)

3. After that has been done. Put the file "dsdt.aml" (Only for gigabyte) in

the root of your drive as well.

4. Open back up "ShowAllFiles" and click Show.

5. Replace boot file in Snow Drive by deleting it and dragging the other one

6. Now Drag all the ".kext file" included in the DMG/Drivers into (Drag

drivers heres...)

- In your Extensions folder, right-click the PlatformUUID.kext extension and

select Show Package Contents.

- In the Contents folder, open up Info.plist, and scroll down to find:

Code:

<key>PlatformUUID</key>  

-Directly beneath that, replace the data between the <string></string>

with the UUID of your Mac OS drive. Save and close.

7. Download EFiStudio from here. and open com.apple.boot.plist in

/Snow/Extra. Go back to EFiStudio, and go through the drop down menu

and look for your Video Card. Click add device and you will see bunch of

numbers. Copy those numbers and make it look like the example

underneath, Also add the Graphics Mode, for a fit resolution.

and put your long number string <string>long hex</string> under device-

properties there.

8. Put the SMBios.plist into /Snow/Extra.

9. Now you make reboot and boot into your "Snow" drive. Everything

should be working.

10. Now once in Snow Leopard open the dmg and drag the folder that says

"(Drag Drivers Here....) drag that to (Drag Extensions Folder Here)

11. Now see if extensions.mkext is in /Extra
