OCTOBER 2018

TOWN CENTER

It's finally October 1st, after

what felt like the longest

September ever. We are so

excited! Even though the

weather hasn't quite cooled

down all the way yet, it's nice

to know that it's coming soon.

Being so close to the ocean

most of us here are total

beach bums and live for

summertime. For some of us

October is a favorite time of the year. From the stunning fall

foliage we experience to the Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes to the

all-around spooky feeling of Halloween being in the air. It doesn't

hurt that in October you can eat Halloween candy every day of this

month and no one will ever judge you. It's not October unless you

go to at least one haunted house. I'm pretty sure it's the law.

Nothing gets you in the Halloween spirit than a haunted house

tour. Here at Sea Bluffs we celebrate with a Haunted House Party,

Haunted House Guided Tours, Lots of Treats, Eerie Music and

Spooky Cocktails. Yes, costumes are encouraged!

Hello Fall! The fall months are a time of great

temptation with the increase of holiday

sweets in the house, but it is also the

perfect time to make little changes to

your routine to stay active and healthy.

*Know that it is okay to indulge in

something sweet, but make sure to first

eat a nutritious meal. You'll feel fuller

and be less likely to go back for a

second helping.

*Small changes each week can add up to

big results: take a walk after dinner or

skip that elevator and take the stairs.

You'll love the way you feel after

burning these extra calories.

*Always drink plenty of water to stay

hydrated. Little sips throughout the day

can really add up!

Path to Well-Being

Labor Day is the "unofficial end of summer" which is marked by parades,

picnics with family and friends. We enjoyed our Labor Day BBQ down by

the pool that was prepared by the dining staff. There was no shortage of

Hot Dogs, Hamburgers and BBQ Chicken. For our Annual Hoedown we

grabbed a partner and moseyed on down to where Cowboy Jack did a little

pick'in and some fiddling out by the pool. September was filled with lots

of events and outings including live theater, Speakers, a local Greek

Festival with music, food and crafts. Every Friday and Saturday our

resident artists get together and enjoy the Artists Palette which is open

studio time to paint and socialize. Two new classes started this month. Mr.

Erk started a Conversational German class which will meet once a week for

four weeks and the Art for All Ages started once a month. Come join us!
