Hello Ferndale ELL Families,

The district would like to tell you about this resource that is being sent out to families with students who are very new to learning English.

Every two weeks, a paper packet separate from the grade level packet that your child

already receives will be coming in the mail. The first one was sent the week of April 27th,

you will receive another on Monday, May 11th, and every two weeks thereafter.

This packet includes English word and picture flash cards, activities to practice those words, and some math worksheets that you can work on with your child. The word and picture flash cards can be saved for practice throughout the summer.

The math work is meant to be practice for students from kindergarten all the way through 5th grade. Some of it will be useful, some of it will not be. Please just do what is

appropriate for your child.

This packet is not meant to take the place of the grade level packets that are coming home from your child's teacher, but rather as something extra to help your child with learning English.

You may access other video links and activities under the ELL link on the Ferndale School District website to support your child's English development.
