The IDB combines data from country sources (especially censuses and surveys) with IPC's estimates and projections to provide information dating back as far as 1950 and as far ahead as 2050.

Political Risk Yearbook. East Syracuse, N.Y.: Political Risk Services. (annual). Bobst Ref6 Desk, current, backfile Bstack HD2755.5.P633, 1987-. Assesses the economic and political situations for each country.

Statistical Compendiums of Foreign Governments. London: Chadwyck-Healy. (annual). Bobst Ref6 fiche, and some print in REF6I. Most countries publish annual statistical volumes providing the more important statistics for that country. Bobst maintains an extensive microfiche collection of these statistical compendiums as well as some print volumes. Please check BobCat for holdings.

Foreign Bank Statistical Publications. (annual and usually quarterly or monthly). Central banks publish bulletins that are predominantly or partially statistical in nature and provide many of these publications free of charge on the web. An excellent website for these publications is: Joint World Bank/IMF Library Central Bank Holdings. In addition, Bobst Library collects the publications of a number of central banks. A few examples include publications from the Deutsche Bundesbank, Bank of England, Bank of Japan, Bank of Canada, Banco Central del Ecuador,

National Statistical Offices . Data sources and links for national statistical offices around the world.

Section 3: Foreign Trade Statistics

National Trade Databank A databank of over 90,000 documents, tables and periodicals released on a monthly basis by the U.S. Department of Commerce. Sources include international and economic trade statistics selected from over 15 federal agencies.

OECD Internal and External Commodity Trade Statistics Commodity trade statistics between OECD member countries and their trading partners.

UN Commodity Trade Statistics Database (UN Comtrade) Every year over 130 countries provide the United Nations Statistics Division with their annual international trade statistics, detailed by commodity and partner country. These data are processed into a standard format with consistent coding and valuation. All values are converted into US dollars using exchange rates supplied by the countries, or derived from monthly market rates and volume of trade.

Bobst Ref6 Int'l Docs., Aisle 20 The most comprehensive source for national accounts statistics; detailed statistics for 168 countries include GDP, private final consumption by type, capital transactions of the nation, general government income and much more. Although, it is very detailed, it is very late to come out, usually several years behind.
