1. Introduction

1.1 Summarize

HengTong DVR2000 adopt MPEG-4 compression mode. It has been designed to be flexible that can connect with different video cameras and display different camera images in real time. Notwithstanding the different inputs and display, all models will have the same features which are kept as uniform throughout the series.

2. Enable the System 2.1 Open the Power Please correctly select the voltage for inputting the power firstly. And then press the power switch on the front panel of the host to enable the system. Main interface as Figure 2-1

There are some control button such as display and record control panel and

“Utility” on the right hand. On the bottom, a progress bar shows the current date, time, user and the present

of disk’s occupied room. It shows the brand of system, type of host and copyright NO in the upper left

corner. The auto switch of single channel button and multi channel button are in upper

right corner.

2.2 Loading After enable the system, it will show the main interface.

Click the Logon button; it will pop up a Logon dialog box Two default usernames are available: “SUPER” and “OPERATOR” The factory default password is NULL for either case. When you logon as “SUPER”, please click the Utility button to change the logon

password (we will concretely explain it on “System Operation Data” section). However, if you logon as “OPERATOR”, the “Utility”, “playback” and some other

buttons will be disabled to prevent the password and recording settings from being modified.

3. Utility

Utility means all kinds of setting operation for DVR2000 is in here. You can select any setting to do by your need.

3.1 Camera Setting

The users can define the name of every channel through camera setting. After

setting, the name will be showed on the top of the video. It is facilitate for users to select the camera when playback. After setting, click “OK” to return. As following picture:

A. The character “\ /: *? “ < > |” can’t be included in the name. B. If there are more than 16 channels in the system. When you want to name the

19-channel for example, please pop up “17-32”channels’ button, and then click the 19th to rename.

3.2 Housekeeping Housekeeping is a button to be clicked to set the according management for system’s data. You can backup and delete the data, scan, clean up and format the disk from there. 3.2.1 Data Backup Data backup means backup the record data to mobile disk or recording the data to CD, etc. as following: Figure 3-3


You can disposal all the record information through data backup. Firstly, please select the camera by clicking the left box to be “√”, and then click “start” to finish. If you wonder whether the selected camera is right or not, you can display the selected camera through “preview” button. 3.2.2 Remove Record Remove record means deleting some useless record. In this case, it will save a lot of disk room. Select the record file by clicking it to “√”, and then press “start” button to delete. Figure 3-4

3.2.3 Disk Manage Some maintenance process such as the disk scanning, scrap managing, formatting are through disk manage. The operation is the same as WINDOWS’. As figure:


3.3 Record Setting You can set the concrete time slice for recording, status of alarm recording and instant state through this record setting dialog box.

3.3.1 Workday Workday means some day from Mon. to Friday. There are two time slices in the workday option. It means that the timing video can be divided into two stages during one day. According to the habit of business, it can be divided into morning and afternoon. It does not record at noon. In order to avoid missing the important events, you can set motion detection recording mode or alarm recording. In this case, it wouldn’t miss the important video record, and also save the disk room. Please see the picture following: Figure 3-5


Select the camera at first, and then input the begin time and end time for recording. If you want to set the second time slice, please lick “ second time slice”, make it fall into and go down, and then set the time as above.

You can adjust the frame ration by changing the value on the “f/s” box. Less frame

ratio, less the disk room it occupied. The default value is 25fps.

In the image quality column, you can choose “CIF” or “D1” to record by your need. The difference between them lies in the size of the video file and the resolution ratio. The file from “D1” is bigger, and the resolution of “D1” is higher.

Note: The resolution: CIF：PAL 352x288，NTSC 320x240

D1： PAL 704x576，NTSC 704x480

After you setting the parameter of the first camera, and then click “ Apply all”, all the other cameras will be automatically set to be the same parameters as the first one.

Exit by click “OK” after finishing setup.

3.3.2 Weekend Weekend means Saturday and Sunday. The user can set the timing record mode according to the actual need. The operation is the same as “workday” part. As figure: Figure 3-6

3.3.3 Alarm


You can set the functions of alarm recording in the “alarm” column. There are two record modes. One is alarm recording that is sprung by the signal from the peripheral equipment; the other is motion detection recording mode. In “ open (second)” column, you can set the second for continuing to record after the alarm signal is ended. Click “√” on the “Nopen” column to enable the constant opening. Cancel “√” to enable the constant closing.

Note: “Nopen” means it will spring the alarm when it received the signal that the

input port has been closed.

You can change the frame ratio for alarm recording in “f/s” column.

Select CIF or D1 on the image quality column.

“Pre-record” means the system will record in advance before the alarm has been sprang. You can set seconds when the system processes the pre-record. For example, if you set 3 sec, the system will start recording before 3 seconds when the alarm is sprang. “ Arm/disarm port” can show the arm/disarm state of alarm host. If the “open” box has been selected to be“√” , the system will automatically send the alarm signal and corresponding image to the remote clients in arm status.(Have installed HengTong DVR2000 remote software). It will process local alarm instead of sending the record to the remote clients in disarm status. Note: if port of certain camera has been defined, the alarm recording functions of this channel will become invalid.

“Scheduled Alarm” is used to set the time slice for alarm recording. The

operation steps are the same as the ones of timing record. Select the camera by click “√” firstly, and then input the time slice; finally, click “OK” to exit.

3.4 Option Setting 3.4.1 Display In display option, the users not only can set the interval for automatically switching each of the single image or multi images, but also can select the camera you want to do switch. “Dwell time” means the switch interval for two cameras. The default value is “2”. Users can change the value by need. “Sequencing,” means the order of the camera that will be switched over. Active the camera with “√” to do switch. Figure 3-8


3.4.2 Recording Users can select the suitable recording mode from the recording column as figure 3-9 according to their need

“Linear” means that it cannot circularly record after HDD full. After the system shows the massage about “disk is full”, user need to delete some of the record files or replace the hard disk with a new one to continue recording.

“ Circular” means it can circularly record by automatically covering the foregoing files after HDD full. It needn’t to exchange a new hard disk.

After setting, please click “OK” to exit. Please view the following figure: Figure 3-9


3.4.3 Operation Setting

“Status retain” means it will return to the original state without taking to set up

again after the system halted or reboot.

“Auto start” means the users can be landed with the user name that is established before.

other settings just need users to click “√” to select. After setting, click “OK” to exit. As following (PTZ is pan/tilt zoom controlling) Figure 3-10

3.4.4 Audio Setting If you want to enable the audio recording function and realize the audio remote delivery, Please select the corresponding camera NO. As figure 3-11 Figure 3-11


3.4.5 Password You can set multi-lever users and password in this Order column, and also can limited the new users’ authority. As following figure: Figure 3-12

Click “ Add” to add a new user, input the new username and password in the

pop-up dialog box, and click “OK” to finish. For example, add “cana” as following: Figure 3-13


After adding a new user, you need to setup the authority for him according to the actual need. Firstly, select the username you want to set authority from the left box, and then click the “popedom ” button. Select the authority in the dialog box. After setting, click “OK” to exit. As following:

3.4.6 Other There are a lot of great settings in the “other” column. Such as setting for time stamp position, setting log size, setting for video losing, etc. “Time Stamp Position” decides the display position of current time for each camera.

You can set the log file’s size in “System log” column. The default value is 2M. It will automatically delete the earliest log when the size of saved log file exceeds the established value. The size of log file can be changed.

When you select the “Except start alarm”, the system will send the alarm signal to remind the users that it hasn’t enter the DVR system within the established time. Take the figure 3-15 for example. The established time is 2 minute. Select other functions by your need. Figure 3-15


3.5 System Information

What described in the system information is the name of the developer of this DVR system and contact information. 3.6 Motion Detection of Video System adopts MPEG-4 to develop the motion detection. After enable this motion detection function, it can automatically detect the movement that happened in the surveillance area. Once founding that there are movements in the detection area, the system will automatically enable recording right now.

3.6.1 Motion Detection Setting Right click the image, it will pop up a dialog box on motion detection setting for set this functions. Figure 3-16


3.6.2 Set the Areas for Detection 1) Right click the camera you want to set motion detection. 2) Press “ set detection area” button, it will appear gridding on the image. Click the pieces of area to set the detection area, or click it again to cannel. Of cause, you can click “ select all” to set this function through whole the video, contrarily, press the “ clear all” to cancel all the detection area. If you want to select a larger block of area, please hold on right click on image, draw it from one point to another point, then the area between these two points have been selected.

3.6.3 Set the Sensitivity of the Motion Detection 1) Press the “ sensitivity setup” button to show the motion area and do some set. 2)Click “up” or “down” button to adjust the sensitivity. We recommend you to use the best sensitivity, because it can avoid mistaken-alarm well. Press the “ display on the detection area” button to view the field that has taken place the movement. 3.6.4 Enable the Motion Detection’s Function


After finishing parameter’s setup, confirm and" enable motion detection" button to activate this function. Figure 3-17

4. Playback 4.1 Playback All the recording files in the hard disk can be found out to playback. There are two modes for playback, single image and multi images. Click “playback” button to pop up the images to display. Playback both the local record and remote record are supported. Figure 4-1

Yellow gridding means the motion detection has enabled

Red: within the time range of alarm attempter

Blue: beyond the time range of alarm attempter


4.2 Remote/ Local You can choose the local record from local host or remote record from other hosts to playback. The default selection is “local playback”. 4.2.1 Local Playback

Select “local” in the upper right corner to playback.

Select the server you want to playback from the drop down menu of “server”

column.

Select the camera No you want to playback from the drop down menu of “Camera” column.

Select the date you want to playback on the “date” column.

Click “file record” button to show the list of files and corresponding information.

Click the different title button to arrange the list by different order. For example,

if you click “begin time”, the file will arrange by the increase order according to time, if you click again, it will array by decreasing order.

Click the file or use the search engine to select the file you want to playback. If

the file has been selected, it will bright.


Double click the file to display, or use the “open” button is also OK. Click the left button (as below figure 4-2) to playback a file, click the right one to playback multi files. Multi file means all files below the selected one.

4.2.2 Remote Playback

Essential condition for remote playback: the “DSR-video” folder of remote DVR

server must be shared. For example, share D:\DSR-Video with the name of “DSR-Video D”, and share E:\DSR-Video with the name of “DSR-Video E”, the rest may be deduced by analogy. Click “remote” button in the upper right of the video player. Input the server name

in the pop up dialog box. Click “OK” to wait for connecting the server. As following figure 4-3

Other operations are the same as the ones of local playback.

4.3 Multi-channel Playback DVR supports multi channels playback. There are two modes: synchronized playback and non-synchronized playback.

Synchronized playback: click “ 4 channels synchronized” button to pop up a dialog box. Select the camera you want to playback, and then select the date, file, etc. as following:

Non-synchronized playback: you can use this function to playback 4 channels

videos with different recording time. Press “ 4 channels non-syn” button firstly, and then choose the camera, the date and the file to display. (The dates must be different)

4.4 Frame Processing

In the course of playback, you can use the “frame processing” button to do snapshot, zoom, printing, saving, etc.

Click “ ” to do snapshot, and use “ ” to come back. Figure 4-5

4.5 Functional Key for Playback zoom: the size can be zoomed to be “50％”、“150％”、“200％”.

Renovate: repair the incomplete video file arising power cutting off or reboot. Function: watermark function can prevent the picture from being distorted illegally. Click “watermark” to pop up “Watermark extractor”, and then open the picture you want to set

this function from the “file” on the menu. Click “ ” to draw the watermark. If the picture

has been juggled, it will remind in the compare column. When you press “ ”, it will show the position where has been juggled. Please view the figure 4-6

5. DVR Configuration 5.1 Logon

Enter the Functional option of DVR configuration through “DVR configuration” button on the tool bar. And also can enter it by clicking the icon of “DVR configuration” from the “control panel” of Windows. The landing of “DVR configuration” is the same as the one of system. Select the available username and input the corresponding password to enter. In generally, only the super has right to modify the system. Figure 5-1

5.2 Channel Distribution (used for the boards with the video expanding functions such as 8R16D、、、、8R32D、、、、H128D) “Channel distribution” is used in the non-real-time expanding video. The dialog box is divided two parts from head to foot. Display and record channels appears in the upper part, and all non-real-time resources of the video that support for you to select shows in the lower part. Operation steps: 1. Select and left click the resource from the lower part; 2. Left click the corresponding video that you want to display this channel in the upper

part; 3. Then the corresponding video will display the channel you have set. 4. If you want to cancel the video, right click the video in the upper part is OK.

Note: A. The same card resource can’t be distributed to the two or above videos at the

one time. B. If one channel is distributed to one corresponding video, it is real-time. If it doesn’t,

it is non-real time, and the resource has been averagely distributed. Give figure 5-3 for example: ( Explain “card 1 channel 1” firstly, it means the first channel of the first CMOS chip on the first Card. In another words, word “Card” in “card 1 channel 1” doesn’t mean the first video board, it only represent the first CMOS chip. ) From the figure, you can see there is only one “card1” in the upper part. It means the resource “ card 1 channel 1” is a single-channel in real time. Otherwise, there are two “card 2” respectively distributed in video 2 and video 3 in the upper part, it means card 2 had been distributed to be two channels; the corresponding fps value is 12.5. In the same way, you will found that “ card 3” has been distributed to be 3 channels. The corresponding fps value is 25/3. And the channel 4 has been distributed to be 4 sub channels. The corresponding fps is 25/4. Figure 5-3


5.3 Alarm Alert Enabling the “alarm Alert” dialog box, the system will send the alarm message when the DVR alarm has been sprang. Users can select to activate the corresponding option by need. Figure 5-4

5.4 Alarm File Overwrite


If you active the “Alarm File Overwrite”, the alarm files will be overwirte by other files in the process of the recording’s automatically circular process. If you wouldn’t active this function, the alarm files will be saved in the hard disk forever. Figure 5-5

5.5 Configuration Backup and Restore “Configuration files” means the whole system’s configuration setting that set by “super”, such as camera’s setting, option setup, DVR configuration, etc. this function apply in the process of resetting DVR software. Only need restore it after resetting the software to return to the primary configuration. It can avoid the trouble to set it again. Figure 5-6

Backup: click “Backup” button firstly, and then select a folder to save the

content. Click “OK” to finish. As following figure: Figure 5-7

Restore: enter the DVR configuration after resetting the software, select “restore”

button from the “configuration backup and restore” column. And then select the backup folder; click “OK” to finish recovery. Operation is the same as the one of “backup”.

5.6 Pan /Tilt /Zoom Control click the box to be “√” to active the “PTZ control” function. As figure 5-8 Figure 5-8

5.7 Pan/ Tilt / Zoom Use the “Pan/ Tilt / Zoom” to set the protocol of decode and to establish the remote PTZ username and authority.

Configuration: the most important is to select the correct decoder’s protocol and COM port and baud rate. Other options can use the default value.

User’s account: this accounts is offered to the remote client to control the PTZ in the server end. The remote client can control the PTZ only when he has this account.

Add new account: click “Add” button on the right hand of the picture above. Input

the username and priority, and then click “OK” to confirm. Figure 5-11

5.8 Select Driver to Record select the driver to save the recorded file from this dialog box. There is “√”in front of the driver just means that this driver has already been chosen.

Note: it strongly recommends that don’t keep the files in system C: disk, Otherwise it will influence systematic normal running seriously once when the files is too large to occupy the most of room. Figure 5-12


5.9 Time Stamp Setup Use this option to enable the video to show the instant time. The default value is that all video can show the time. But if you needn’t this function on some video, please cancel the corresponding “√”.

5.10 Video Server User Manager Can set the username, password and limitation for remote clients to monitor the server video during this option. There are many kinds of visit limitation, such as password, specific IP address, exclusive network card address of visit end (MAC mode of network card); on the other hand, users can limit the bandwidth of every video transmission base on the situation of net bandwidth.


Note: User need to select the “password protection”.

5.11 Add User Add new users: after pressing “New User” button, input the “username”, ‘password”, and “time limit” on the dialog box.

The defaulted value of “time limit” is O. It means the user can do view without time’s restriction. If you change it to be 30 minutes for example, it means users only can view the video for 30 minutes.

Audio and video that can be viewed: only the selected video or audio can be viewed. The default situation is that all videos are available to view.

Remote unlock: the precondition is that there is electro motional lock in server end. Click “√”to enable this function.

5.12 Access Limitation If you enable this function, the remote clients need to be validated when it visits the server end. There are two modes for validating, one is through IP, and the other is through exclusive MAC (the network card’s address).

IP address: select the username on the user column, select “IP address” in lower right corner of the dialog box, ->press “access limitation” button to enter the dialog box, ->select the camera and input the corresponding IP address, -> press “Add” button -> press “OK” to exit.

MAC: the setting operation is the same as the one of IP address. 5.13 Network Bandwidth Net bandwidth means the bandwidth value occupied by each camera when the server sends the data to the remote end. The limit value can be changed according to the fact situation. Steps: Press “Network bandwidth” to enter the setting dialog box->select the camera-> decide whether to adjust the picture’s quality or not->select the bandwidth-> click “OK” to exit after setting. As figure 5-17:


5.14 Watchdog Setting Watchdog is equipment can realize that DVR software and hardware monitor the system jointly. It can make the computer to reboot within some set time after computer’s halt, and also comeback to the primary status. It avoids missing some important recording. 5.15 Time Open /close /Reboot computer The systematical resource needs to be released regularly to get the better monitor quality. Select the mode (such as time open the computer, time close the computer, time reboot the computer) firstly, and then input the time, click “ok” to finish. As figure 5-19

5.16 Property of Media Player “Property of Media player” is setup for the hardware compression specially. Recording playback needs to be supported by the different property of Media player because the OVERPLAY of each graphics adapter is different. The defaulted formats are IYUV, YY12, YUY2, YVYU and UYVY. Users can add the formats by needs. If it is not satisfactory after append the setting, please press the “default” button to return to the default.

Note: if encountering black screen or serious mosaic when playback in D1 mode, please selects RGB32 only, and then click “Confirm” button to save.

5.17 Video Revolve The angle of video needs to be revolved in some especial situation such as in ATM application. This function supports the angle of video rotate 90 degrees. Enable“ revolve” that behind the corresponding camera you want to do revolve. The revolved image is slightness. The picture can be widened and full of the showing window, but the resolution is not very nice. So we recommend not using “stretch” function. Figure 5-21

5.18 Select “PAL” or “NTSC” Users can select “PAL” or “NTSC” according to the actual input signal of the video.

6.Tool Bar Function

Move the mouse to the upper left corner of DVR main screen. It will pop up a tool bar with many function buttons. Click “ ” to keep showing the tool bar, click again to hide it. As figure 6-1

6.1 Zoom in, Zoom out, Restore Zoom in: it only support electronic zoom. Click “ ”firstly, and then select and

click the point of the area you want to zoom in. Zoom out: click “ ”button, select and click the point of the area you want to

zoom out. Restore: click “ ”and right click the certain camera to return to the primary

status.

6.2 Channel Switch Use “ channel switch” to define the display position for every channel. Click “ ”button in the tool bar and click to select a surveillance position that channel want to show within the video monitor area, and then select and double click the channel that need to be monitored from the display panel. That video image will display in the appointed monitor position.

6.3 Take Photograph The users can take photograph by using this function. Click “ ”button, and then click the channel you want to take photograph, one click to get one picture, double click to get two pictures.

6.4 Manage the Picture Use this button to do manage the picture you have taken. You can do save, print and delete. The operation is the same as the Windows system.

You can use “channel selection, begin time and end time” to find out the picture. Figure 6-2


6.5 Listening press “ ”button, select the channel NO you want to listen the scene voice. 6.6 Volume Set click “ ” button to adjust the volume until it is fit for listening. 6.7 Quality Set of Image The control result of the image will be influenced by the change of outside light according to the different time slot, use “quality set” to regulate to the best video picture quality. Through regulate some parameters such as brightness, contrast, chroma, saturation, etc. Click the“ ”to pop up the dialog box. After regulating to the best quality, the users can save this best status in the temporary storing device through right click the number of “ ” in the following figure 6-3. There are 5 temporary storing devices. Users can select the best one after comparing these 5 results. Users can also regulate the video quality according to the different light between daytime and nighttime. Click the box before “night” to be “√”-> input the time slot for switching;->Press “day/night” button to enable this function. Figure 6-3


6.8 Log “Log” records every operational process. It will detailedly record who, when, and do what. Press “ ”button-> select the date to view the log. Figure 6-4

6.9 Image Shelter In generally, this function uses in some special occasion (such as national treasury of the bank). Some confidential areas must be sheltered because these areas are not able to view by anybody except authorized manager. This shelter will be automatically canceled only when alarm has taken place.


Steps: press “ ”button;->Right click the video you want to set “mask” function;-> select the areas to shelter from (24*32 areas);->enable mask function;->decide whether it will apply in recording or not. Figure 6-5

6.10 Desktop The desktop has been hidden when running the DVR system. The authorized users can click “ ” button to pop up a startup bar, click “ ” button in this bar to minimum the DVR interface and show the desktop of Windows. 6.11 Swift Key of DVR Configuration There is a “DVR configuration” swift key on this tool bar to facilitate for users to use. It avoids the trouble that users must exit the DVR system and start the “DVR configuration” on the “Control Panel”. Steps: click “ ” to pop up a dialog box, input the username and password. Please consult the “DVR configuration” part to see other settings. 6.12 Others

There are two functions setting in “others” button, one is “ net video server”, the other is “alarm send option”. Click “ ”to select.

Net video server: users can use this function to view which remote users are

connecting with this local host. And users can encrypt for the data or cut the connection by need.

“Encrypt data” means do encrypt for the data that is in transmission. If there is no

USB soft dog in the “remote monitor center” software, the client end must enable this function, or the data will unable to transmit. “Enable net register” means this server will register through Internet. If it has

enabled this function, the client end will be able to visit the server by inputting the server name when the connection is through dynamic IP net. It is strongly recommended to select this function.

Alarm send option: it means that the video with alarm status will be sent to the remote administration center. The “username” and “password” is the ones that the local server has offered to the remote center.

6.13 Help press “ ” to resolve your puzzle or ask for help. 6.14 PTZ Control Client Information Through “PTZ control client information” function, users can control the direction of PTZ, can regulate the camera’s “zoom”, “aperture” and the “focus”, and also can control remote lamp open/close, open the lock and so on. 6.14.1 Select Camera Select the camera from the camera selection box on the PTZ control panel. Note: camera number of decoder must match with the one of the connected camera. 6.14.2 Control Speed Control the PTZ’s speed through the sliding control box.

6.14.3 Control PTZ’s Focus After selecting the camera, click arrowhead button to control the direction, focus and multiply. 6.14.4 Pre-position The positions of the PTZ can be saved so that the camera can return to that position when wanted.

Set pre-position: input the number of pre-position in the pre-position box. Adjust

the camera to the perfect position after selecting the pre-position number. Click “set” button to award this number to this position.

Show the number of pre-position: Input the number of pre-position, Press the show button to send the camera to the saved pre-position. Pre-position hot keys: Four hot keys are implemented for four frequently used pre-

positions. After setting, press these hot keys will send the camera to pre-position accordingly.

7.4 Alarm Connector of D Type Alarm connector of D type is another equipment for alarm I/O. It will occupy one PCI because it will be inserted in the PCI port. The connection is as following figure 7-4


8. Decoder’s Instruction 8.1 Device Summarize

Pan/Tilt OSRD is a former control device match with the security surveillance device, the control format are RS-485 and RS-232. It can control the pan/tilt inside and outside of room, electro motion lens, camera and shield. This device doesn’t recommend to installing at flammability location. Please select the correct voltage for work.

8.2 Device Introduction

The indication light illuminate to show the power is natural. When the decode single is correctly received, the indication light blacks out one second.

9.Single-Channel Remote DVR2000 remote have strong functions such as remote surveillance, remote monitor, remote tall back, remote recording, playback, remote control (indication light and lock on/off), remote control PTZ, patrolling, remote receiving alarm and so on.

Note: please make sure the web is expedited before connecting remote surveillance software. There will automatically create a shortcut icon on the Windows interface after the single screen remote software having been installed. Following the below figure 30. Double click the icon, there will pop up an operation interface as figure 31 on the upper right hand of the screen.

Input correspond content in every label box of figure 33, then click “add” key. If you want to monitor more than one server, please input correspond content of another server by the same way. After setting, click “OK” to return main interface, select the server name you want to link to, press “OK”.

Note: If server and surveillance center is linked by dynamic IP network, you must draw “” in the “logon” to allow the server can logon by user resolution server. 9.2.2 Modify, Delete Server If the server setting is error, please select the error server in the server list and make it become blue color, and then click “modify” again after finish modify by click “modify” button, press “OK” to return main interface. 9.3 Logon Server 9.3.1 Logon Server After set the server, return to main interface as figure 32. Select the server want to land in the drop down menu, click “OK”. It will pop up a dialog box as figure 34 after many seconds. Input user name and password provided by server port, click “OK” to logon server and to monitor remote image.

Note: You must draw “” in “save password” to avoid input user name and password again when you want to view second channel and third channel.

9.3.2 Logon Server Directly There is a method to logon server directly instead of logon through server setting. Click “<<” in the main interface as figure 32 swap to another logon method like figure 35, input server name (that have registered) or the server IP address, press “OK”. It will pop up a dialog box as figure 34 after many seconds. You only need to input user name and password to logon. The other method is that clicks “scan” and directly selects the server you want to monitor in the network (available in the LAN), other operation are the same as upper. Figure 9-6

9.4 Remote Setting 9.4.1 Select Camera Click “camera” and select the channel you want in the drop down menu to view different camera channel.

9.4.2 Remote Record, Playback If you want to do remote record, please click “record” and select “Start” in the drop down menu to record, press “stop” to stop and click “playback” to return playback interface after many seconds, you can refer 4.5 part to know the playback operation. Figure 9-9

9.4.3 Adjust Surveillance Resolution Select different surveillance resolution according users’ different taste. Click “ resolution” to select.


The image will be more clear and small when showing by less resolution. The standard is 384*288. Figure 9-10

9.4.4 Adjust Compression Ratio Compression ratio is set for remote record. In generally, users use the standard setting of the company instead of setup again. But the record setting can be set according users’ need. Following figure 40 Figure 9-11

9.4.5.1 Add, Modify, and Detect the Patrolling Aim Add: click “add” button after camera channel has been set according user need. If you want to add another camera channel, please select other camera No, after input the corresponding content click “add”. Modify: select the aim wanted to modify in the patrolling aim list, and click to change the color to blue, and then modify the corresponding content in every boxes. Finally click “modify” “OK” to return to main interface. Delete: select the aim want to modify in the patrolling aim list, click to become blue color, and then click “delete” “OK” to return main interface. After setting, it will OK after select “start” in the drop down menu of “patrolling”. 9.5 Remote Control 9.5.1 Logon Password

Click right mouse after enter the surveillance image. The main interface will pop up a drop down menu as figure 42: click “ logon password” to disappear the dialog box as figure 34, and then input the correct user name and password. Click “OK” finally. Figure 9-13

9.5.2 Display Control There are 3 options in the display control such as “display status bar”, “display detail bar” and “display instant status”. Other is “ hidden bar”. Enable “display status bar”, it will add a bar with “ frame size”, “frame count”, and a status bar with current time and surveillance time in the bottom of main interface. Enable “display detail bar”, it will disappear some detailed status information to be clear at a glance in the bottom of main interface. If you needn’t this detail information, please select “hidden bar”. The detail information following figure 43 Figure 9-14


9.5.3 Audio Control Remote audio control can enable remote monitor, tall back and other audio dealings under the status that server input correct audio.

Note: The monitor port must install microphone and sound box. Monitor: select “start monitor” in the drop down menu. Talk back: select “talk” under the monitor status. Other options can be select according the users’ need. Like figure 44 following: Figure 9-15

9.5.4 Full Screen Display You only need to select “full screen display” button in the drop down menu in figure 9-15 to display the view image by full screen. Click left mouse in the full screen to return to original image. 9.5.5 Remote Control The remote system set, remote light the lamp, open the luck and other series functions will be realized in the remote control option. Remote system set: select “ get system setting or log” to pop up a dialog box as following figure: Figure 9-16

Input the super password, click “OK”, then you can set the remote system in the system setting box that pop up after seconds. Please refer to “user guider” to see setting details. If you want to get the server’s log, please click “OK” after affirming the start date and day of log you want to view, wait for seconds to view the detailed log information by linking to network successful. Remote indicator light and lock on /off: Select “ON/OFF light” and “open the lock” buttons in the drop down menu to control remote indicator light and lock.

Note: The electromagnetism lock and electro motion lock in the server can automatically close several seconds after starting.

9.5.6 Cut Connection/ Close Window Select “cut connection” in the drop down menu like figure 46 to cut the current link. Select “close window” or click “” on the upper right hand of main interface to close the current monitor interface. 9.6 Remote Playback

Note: if you want remote playback, you must share the file that agree doing remote playback firstly. There are two formats of playback: one is remote playback, and another is local playback. Click the green triangle button of “playback”. If it is remote playback, you can input server name (have been registered) or IP address in the pop-up dialog box, and then click “ ok”. If it is local playback, you just can click “local” to enter the playback interface in the pop-up box directly. Figure 9-18

The operation of playback is the same as the one of server playback: select camera name select date select play file play. Please refer to “record playback” department. 9.7 Remote Alarm Receiver The remote alarm receiver means to the monitor side will receive the alarm information and pop up that camera image immediately when the alarm happened in the service side. It makes the monitor side can see the status and deal with in time.


It will appear a head portrait icon in the lower right side of Windows by clicking and starting “alarm receiver” button. Click right mouse in the icon to pop up a dialog box, if you want to exit receive, please select “exit” directly. If you want to view the alarm information and doing corresponding setting, please select “ resume” to pop up the dialog box as figure 48. There are two departments of alarm receiver: one shows current alarm information, and another records history alarm information. Alarm information points out “channel”, “alarm server name”, “status”, “alarm date”, “detailed alarm time” and “alarm type” in detail. Set: click “set” button to pop up a dialog box as figure 9-19.

Permit auto link: the monitor side not only can receive current alarm information, but also can auto pop up the alarm camera image, and then input the user name and password provide by server in the pop-up dialog box.

Only pop up alarm window: the monitor will pop up a alarm information window instead of pop up the camera window at once there are alarm happened in the server side.

Alarm tip: there are two mode of sound. One is “DI” voice that the software own; another is the sound the users can set by their will. Click “scan” and select WAV mode sound file in the mainframe.

Alarm linkage: this function only can be used on the guidance edition with electronic map. Draw “” in the front box and input the title of alarm linking in the back blank box.

After setting, click “OK” “close” to exit. Figure 9-19

9.8 Remote PTZ Control Remote PTZ control means the server side can change the direction of pain/toil, adjust the camera “zoom”, “lris” and “focus”, and can control remote indicator light and lock on/off and so on. Click PTZ button to start PTZ controller, input server’s name or IP and user’s name that provided by server side in the pop up dialog box. Following figure 50. Detail operation please refers to figure 9-21.

Note: it will support user whose name has add to the user list in the PTZ control server to logon. Figure 9-21

Camera select Use the camera select box in the PTZ control panel to chose the camera that

controlled by PTZ.

Note: the setting of OSRD camera number must correspond with the linked camera number. Speed control

The moving speed of PTZ can be control through slide. Pre position

The position of PTZ can be saved in order to make the camera back the position by need.

Set pre-positions: input the pre position number in the pre position box. Adjust the camera to the pre-position up/down, right/left after select pre position

number. Click “set” button to distribute the pre position to this station. Display pre-positions: input pre-position no. Click display button to set the camera

to the pre position.


Pre-position hot key: have supported pre-position hot key for the four pre-position that in common use. Use the hot key can adjust the camera to the corresponding pre-position after the successful setting.

10. Installation of Boards 10.1 Installation of Software Compression Boards

HengTong DVR2000 video boards support machine case system and PC system. Only need to insert the video boards in the corresponding PCI slot. Check your goods following hereunder list:

If what you used is a DVR2000-H series video board, please connect the OUT insert slots on the board to the CDIN slots that is in the sound card. If what you use is multi pieces of DVR2000-H series video cards, please connect the first video card’s OUT insert slots with CDIN slots that is in the sound card, then insert the next card’s OUT slots to the last card’s IN slots.

After affirming the articles is all right, following method that is referred above to install the DVR2000-H series video cards. Connect the video cards to the sound cards, and then insert the cards into the PCI slots. Figure 10-3


11. Install the Driver 11.1 Install the HengTong DVR2000 video cards driver under the WIN98SE operation system.

1) After install the cards, and enter the operation, it will pop-up a dialogue box as “add new hardware wizard”，now click "next"，

2) select "Search for a suitable driver for my device(recommended)"，click "next"


3) and then put the CD of HengTong DVR2000 into the CD driver, select “Specify a location:”，click“Browse..”，The route points to the Driver\ Win98 folder under the CD disk’s root catalogue.

4) now, the system shows “windows is now ready to install the best driver for this device”，click “next”，


5) Last click “finish”

If there is multi-channel video card installed in your computer, please repeat upwards steps until finishing the installation.

Finished the installation, it will pop up the device driver “Audio Capture” and “Video Capture Device” under the "sound, video and game controllers" option in my computer’s device manager


11.2 Install HengTong DVR2000 video cards driver under WIN2000.

1) After installed the video cards and enter the operation system, it will pop up a dialogue box “Found New Hardware”，click“Next”，


2) and then select “Search for a suitable driver for my device(recommended)”，click “next”，

3) choose “Specify a location” in “Optional search location” ，click “Next”，

4) And then put the CD of HengTong DVR2000 into the CD driver; point the routes of “Copy manufacture’s files from” to the HTC-Driver\ Win2k\Chi folder under the CD disk’s root catalogue, then click “OK”.


5) The system will show “Windows found a driver for this device”, and then click “Next”, as following:


6) Click “yes” to process the driver’s installation, last click “finish”.

If there is multi-channel video card installed in your computer, please repeat upwards steps until finishing the installation.

Finish installation, it will pop up “Fujan HengTong TM1300 Hard Compress Board(Win2000)”device driver under the option of “Sound、video and game controllers” in my computer’s Device Manager.


11. 3 Install HengTong DVR2000 video cards driver under WINXP. 1) After installing board, enter the OS. Once it pop up a “ hardware update guide”, please select “ install from the list or pointed situation (great)” please click “Next”. Figure 11-16


2) Put the DVR2000 CD in the optical disk drive, select “including this location during

searching (O):”, click “browse” to find out “HTC-Driver\ Win2k\Chi” folder from the optical disk root directory, after click “OK”, then click “Next”.

If there is multi-channel video card installed in your computer, please repeat upwards steps until finishing the installation. Finish installation, it will pop up “Fujan HengTong TM1300 Hard Compress Board(Win2000)”device driver under the option of “Sound、video and game controllers” in my computer’s Device Manager. None “!” means the installation of driver has completed.

Note:

Users need install “ driver for HengTong memory device” when using DVR2000-S series boards. Steps:

i. Double click “ add/remove the hardware guide” from the control panel. ii. Click “Next”, and then select “add/ remove the malfunction” . iii. Click “Next”, the Windows is searching for hardware device now. iv. Select “ add new device” from the pop-up dialog box, and then click “Next”. v. Select “NO, I want to select hardware from list (O)”, click “Next”. vi. Select “other device”, and then click “Next”. vii. Click “ install it from disk (H)”. viii. Put the DVR2000 CD in the optical disk device, and then click “browse”. ix. Change the path to be “HTC-Driver\ Win2k\Chi” under root directory of the

optical disk, and then click “OK”. x. Select “ HengTong Driver for the device of memory control”, and then click

“NEXT”. xi. The Windows is installing the driver now, please click “Next” to continue. xii. Finally, click “ finished”.

12. Install the Internet Application

It is time to install the Internet application after installing the driver. HengTong DVR2000-S series boards need to match the software compression software to use. And HengTong DVR2000-H series boards need to match the hardware compression software to use. The installation processes for this two software are the same. Steps: 1) Open the software catalog firstly, running Setup program, and then click “Next”.

2) " The license agreement " dialog box appears, then please click " (Y) " Figure 12-2

3) Click “ browse” to find a destination to install, click “OK” to confirm. In generally,

using the defaulted destination is OK. Then click “Next”. Figure 12-3


4) Select the corresponding “Type for install”. There are three types for installing

software compression: “ HengTong DVR2000-8R” “HengTong DVR2000-8R16D” and “ HengTong DVR2000-8R32D”. And there also are three types for installing hardware compression: “ HengTong DVR2000-H16RT”, “HengTong DVR2000-H32RT” and “HengTong DVR2000-H128DT”. Click “Next” to continue.

5) It will pop up a dialog reminding that it is copying the files, please click “Next”.

6) After finishing the installation, it will pop up a message as figure 12-7.

7) It will ask whether to reboot computer at right now or not, please select “ yes” to reboot the computer. Figure 12-8


8) Finally, click “finished”. After rebooting, the installation is completed. 3. Common Trouble and Solution

13.1 Frequently Halt

System halted every two minutes on average. The reason may be one or mix of the following reasons:

1) It may be caused by the mistake of the hard disk. Hard disk takes place error and lead to the fact unable to write data into. It will halt and enable the watchdog function once writing the data into HDD. Sometimes, it enables the safety mode after rebooting; in this case, the system is easy to halt when operating.

Solution: adapt “ scan the disk” under Windows system. If it won’t resolve the problem, please considering formatting the HDD or changing for a new one.

2) May be it is because of the iffy video capture board. Please instead for a new one.

3) The reaction time for enabling watchdog has been set to be too short. It also

can cause this problem. 4) May be CPU fan has broken. The CPU is too hot to cause the computer’s halt.

Please exchange the fans.

13.2 Display Incapability Power supply is normal, but it cannot find out the hardware in host, the display flashes and flashes. In generally, the reason is that there is questionable trouble in main board


or video boards. Please try to enter the system after removing the video boards. If it still cannot run, please exchange the main board. 13.3 Circulation is Unable The circulation is unable while the display interface is normal as before. 1) One of the reasons may be is that users haven’t enable “ circular recording”. Please

set the recording mode to be “ circular recording” from the “ recording” column in “Utility”. Exit the software and enter again.

2) Another reason may be is there is problem in the hard disk. Please exit DVR2000 software to scan the hard disk. If it will appear some files named *.CHK, please delete it at right now.

13.4 Catalogue Establishing Failed. If it suddenly pop up a message to alarm that “ catalogue establish failed, it cannot do recording.” when running the software. The reason is the hard disk. Please scan it. If the problem is still exist, please change the HDD.

13.5 Invalid Operation If it will pop up a message that “ this procedure will be closed up because it carry out and operate illegally, please contact with dealer. The host will reboot after you close this box.” And after rebooting, the message will pop up again. Please reinstall the software to resolve this problem. 13.6 Time Lack when Recording 1) Please confirm whether the time setting for recording excess the stated time or not (such as excess the 10 hours or 20 hours)

2) Inspect whether you have enable the motion detection. If you have enable this function and the most time for every recording files are 15 minutes. Please reduce the sensitivity for detection. Or please select some areas where movements frequently take place in instead of selecting all the areas.

3) Another reason cause this problem may be that there are two computer names in this PC. Please delete one.

13.7 Distort Alarm If it encounters distorting alarm when processing the motion detection, the reason is that the video signal is not very good and the image is fuzzy not clear. Please befittingly decrease the sensitivity. 13.8 Alarm All the Times Please check whether short circuit exists in the alarm bar. Try to pull out the line of alarm bar, if it still alarm, please check whether the alarm line has problem. If this scheme is still failed, please check the video boards to find the reason. 13.9 Splash or Blank Screen During Hardware Compression’s Playback Process Because the display format and overlay technology that supported by graphics adapter is different, there might be appears splash or blank screen in some type of graphics adapter during the hardware compression playback process. Users can following below setting to resolve this problem.


1) Open the “media player property” in the “DVR configuration” from “control panel”. Following below picture: Figure 13-1

2) Enter the setting following: Figure 13-2


3) Users can try to set it to be RGB32 mode, because it fits for most of the graphics adapter, and then click “confirm” button: Figure 12-3


4) Click “OK”, and the phenomenon of splash and blank screen will clear away when playback again.

Note: if you use D1 result to record, recommend using RGB32 mode!

If you use CIF format to record, you can choose another format to improve the image quality. Such as YUY2 Figure 13-4


Try to test whether it will appear splash or blank screen or not. If appears, please choose another format until to resolve the problem, if not, the quality of playback will be improve, and the establishment of the graphic adapter succeeded at this moment.

If the playback of AVI file cannot process in DVR host computer, you can set it in the media player of Windows. Right click it during the playing process, and choose “property” in the menu, following:

Complete the setting, please exit the player and open it again to test the result!

13.10 Abnormally Display

The screen only shows DVR2000 picture after entering DVR2000, there is no natural operation interface in the right of screen, and you cannot doing natural operate. (Following below picture)

The reason is that the resolution for OS has been set to be 640*480, so the system only can work when the distinguish ratio is 1024*768.

13.11 The Image is Indistinct

When DVR2000 received the image signal from every channel, but the display result is not very clearly as cover a block of gauze in the camera lens.

The reason is that the display color for OS has been set to be “24 bits indeed multicolor” or “32 bits indeed multicolor”. The solution is to set it to be “16 bits buildup color”, because the result is best in this case.
