HERBAL TECHNOLOGY

Our herbal healing shampoo and topical/oral spray are based on the use of a unique species of a plant as the active ingredient, called “matico”, or Orange Ball Buddleja, which is native to Chile and Argentina. Folk medicine attributes to B. globosa wound healing properties, and the infusion of the leaves is used topically for the treatment or wounds, burns and external and internal ulcers. It is also used to treat stomach ulcers, diarrhea, liver and gallbladder impairments, and help alleviate pain. One of the advantages of the shampoo and spray over other similar “natural” products is that there are no other oils that can potentially induce allergic reactions, such as eucalyptus and citronella oil.

The use of natural, herbal but inert and non-reactive ingredients promotes healing without the potential for adverse reactions. Chemical studies of this species have isolated glycosidic flavonoids (studies show that flavonoids have anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-cancer and anti-diarrheal characteristics), phenylethanoids including verbascoside(antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory characteristics), iridoids (exhibit a wide range of bioactivities including cardiovascular, anti-hepatotoxic, choleretic, hypoglycemic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-mutagenic, anti-spasmodic, anti-tumor, anti-viral, immunomodulator, and purgative activities), triterpenoids, di and sesquiterpenoids (compounds from which all steroids are derived).
