I hope you had a lovely summer holiday. I’d like to welcome our new primary 1 children who have all settled into their new school routines very well. I would also like to welcome Mrs Browning, acting DHT; Miss Young, acting PT early years and Miss Mynott, primary 5a. Change to Primary 2 Class Teacher Miss Bishop has been successful in her application to become a class teacher within Broughton Primary School Language Unit. She has always had an interest in working within the special education sector and whilst is sad to be leaving us, is excited about the prospect. She will therefore be leaving Hermitage Park Primary School on Friday 8 th September (her last day). Her position is currently being advertised and we hope to appoint her replacement as soon as possible. I understand that this is frustrating and unsettling for children and parents however please be assured that we will endeavour to make the transition as smooth as possible. School Uniform Thank you for ensuring that your child has the correct school uniform. It is lovely to see the children from primary 1 to primary 6 in red sweaters and children in primary 7 in black. This really highlights primary 7 as being the ‘senior’ pupils. Animation Club I am delighted to inform you that once again, our animation club has once again won an award at The Film Festival. Miss Milne, Ms. Watson and the children attended an Award Ceremony before the summer and were presented with ‘The Jury Award’.

This is a wonderful achievement. Well done!!

Dance World ChampionshipsI am also delighted to inform you that Lexi Sheppard, P4a won a Bronze medal at the Dance World Championships which were held in Germany before the summer holidays. This is an amazing achievement and we are all so proud of her!!

Nursery NewsThis week in nursery we have been settling into new routines and meeting new friends. All of the children have made a great start to term. We are still awaiting new children and look forward to seeing them. We have enjoyed playing with the loose materials in the garden whilst the weather has been nice.

Please can you make sure all the children have their clothes named and appropriate clothes on for outside play. We will be continuing our ‘Daily Mile.’

We have also introduced class bears to our nursery. Bertie and Rosie bear go home with the children for a night. The children draw pictures and write a diary of what the bear has been doing at their house. The children have been building on their confidence in telling the rest of the class their news.
