    To many Upstream, Refining, and Petrochemical professionals, a "Hex Valve" is a generic description for bar stock instrument,gauge, and orifice valves. That didn't happen by accident. These valves were originally developed and marketed by us decades agoas a means to simplify the piping associated with gauge and differential pressure transmitter applications.

    Since our acquisition in 1985 by Richards Industries, our product line has expanded to cover almost every conceivable primaryand secondary valve application for a variety of automated process industries. From small 1/4" needle valves and patented stabi-lized instrument platforms for the Natural Gas Industry to high temperature primary valves and hydrocarbon sampling valves forRefineries and Power Plants, to exotic gas distribution manifolds for our Biopharm customers.

    P RIMARY BLOCK VALVES Primary Gauge/Orice Valves

    • HG46 Series Gauge / Block ValveThe HG46 provides a quick, inexpen-sive and compact means of installinggauges and static pressure instrumen-tation on a tough, compact primaryisolation platform. The HG46 featuresan OS&Y bolted bonnet with weld orthreaded connections. The HG46 can be supplied with a bleed vaor needle valve threaded into one of the outlets to allow for combblock and bleed functions in a single, compact unit.

    • HG47 Series Gauge / Block ValveThe HG47 is roddable, hard seatedorifice valve that overcomes the draw-backs of conventional globe style, hardseat primary valves. It is ideal for useas a multi-outlet primary block valveon high temperature, viscous services.It provides 3/8" port, unrestricted flowand is completely roddable. The HG47 features an OS&Y boltednet with weld or threaded connections. The accessible hard seat iand non-rotating tip (NRT) stem are machined for precision fit, yfield-replaceable to allow for long service life.

    • HexBlok ValvesThe Hex Blok is used on UpstreamOffshore/Onshore Gas and Oil produc-tion and initial processing installationsfor primary and/lor secondary isola-tion, vent and calibration of gaugepressure instruments and analyzers. Itis typically used on liquid hydrocarbon applications to minimize size and weight of the pipe-valve assemblies. Hex Blok is the doblock and bleed valve offering the industry's first 3/8" globe styleoffering.

    P RIMARY BLOCK VALVES Primary Orice (Root) Valves

    • HG65 Series Orifice Block ValveThe HG65 orifice block valve isdesigned for compact side-by-sidemounting on standard orifice flanges,condensate chambers, mercury trapsand seal traps. Two outlet ports areprovided for impulse line connections orfor pressure gauge mounting. The HG65 is ideal for light hydrocarbonsor utility service.

    • HG12 Series Orifice Block ValveThe HG12 features a built-in vent orbleed screw on the outlet side of thevalve. In process line mounted instru-ment or signal line tubing, venting orline filling capabilities can be an addedfeature.

    • HO25 Series Orifice Block Valve

    The HO25 Series features an OS&Ybolted bonnet and two outlet connec-tions. The HO25 is more compact andhas a shorter profile than model HG65to reduce vibration.

    HAND-NEEDLE VALVES

    • HN29 Series Needle ValveTargeted to the gas sampling, OEM, and

    reseller market.All stainless steel valves are rated to 3000psig @ 100°F (207 bar @ 38°C) withsoft seats, Teflon packing and 1" diameterround knurled handles. Valves are avail-able in 1/4" sizes. All carbon steel valvesare rated to 6000 psig @ 100°F (414 bar @ 38°C) with hard seats and3000 psig @ 100°F (207 bar @ 38°C) with soft seats (Delrin), Teflon ping and either "T" handles or 1" diameter round knurled handles. Valveavailable in 1/4" and 1/2" sizes.

    • HN39 Series Instrument ValveA compact and economical high-pressure, 316SS instrument valve. Panelmanufacturers can use an optionalpanel nut to secure valves to instrumentpanels. Valves are available with integralhard seats, 316 stainless steel body andtrim and Teflon/Grafoil packing. The HN39 Series is rated to 6000 @ 100°F (414 bar @ 38°C); 450°F (232°C) limit for Teflon-packedvalves and 1000°F (538°C) limit for Grafoil-packed valves.

    • HN41 Series Instrument ValveA straight-thru design with a Delrinseat, which provides bidirectional flowand the ability to "rod-out" the valve forcleaning. These valves are specificallytargeted for the oil and gas industry andare available only in 316 Stainless Steelper NACE MR-01-75.

    • HN49 Series Needle ValveA heavy duty valve that features anindustrial strength stem and bonnet,and enhanced packing arrangement. Forcorrosive or other volatile applications,the HN49 can be specified in a varietyof materials including Monel, Alloy 20,Titanium and Hastelloy. These valves arealso available with cryogenic bonnet extensions with temperatures alow as -450°F (-268°C) with proper insulation of piping. Packing teperature in extended bonnet should not be below -200°F (-129°C).

    P RIMARY BLOCK VALVES Block & Bleed and Double Block & Bleed

    • Monoflange ValvesUsed on Upstream Offshore/OnshoreGas and Oil production and initial pro-cessing installations. Typically used ongas gauge pressure instrument applica-tions to minimize the size and weightof the pipe-valve assemblies used forprimary and/or secondary isolation, vent and calibration.

    Also used in downstream Oil and Gas Refining and Petrochemical pro-duction on flanged processes, primarily on light end gas applications.

    • HT03 and HT01 Series High Temperature ValvesHex HT03 and HT01 high temperature globe valves are designed forservice to 1500°F at 500 psi working pressure. They are available insizes up to 1-1/2" with NPT, socketweld, butt weld or flanged end connec-tions.

    Hex high temperature valves are used asshutoff or block valves, as well as bleedvalves on power plant applications,hydrogen scrubbers, compressors andin hydrocracking units.

    SECONDARY GAUGE Block & Bleed Valves

    • HG48 Series Gauge / Block ValveThe HG48 gauge / block valve providesthree outlet connections to facilitate themounting of gauges and other staticpressure instruments in a variety ofpositions. The HG48 can be suppliedwith an integral hard seat which matchesthe body material, or with a choice of soft seat materials including PPS,KEL-F, TFE or PEEK.

    HG35 Series Gauge / Block ValveThe HG35 gauge valve, with a male inletand a male outlet, meets the applicationrequirement for a block and bleed valvewithout the need for a close nipple whenconnecting to a female port on a gaugepressure transmitter rated to 6980 psi(481 bar).

    The HG35 configuration provides one less threaded connection byutilizing a male outlet for direction connection into a gauge pressure

    transmitter.

    • HB50/51 Series Block & Bleed ValveThe HB50 features a fully packed andbackseated block valve along with ableed valve with directional dischargetube and stem stop. The HB50 can alsobe threaded into a Hex primary blockvalve (such as an HG65) to provide

    secondary block and bleed functions onmultiple instrument installation.

    The HB51 is similar to the HB50 but utilizes a bleed screw in lieu of ableed valve.

    SECONDARY GAUGE Block & Bleed Valves

    • HB59 Series Integral Block & Bleed ValveThe HB59 is ideal for critical servicesand combines a fully packed back-seated block valve and a fully packedbleed valve into a single, streamlinedassembly that minimizes threaded con-nections. With its 1/2" vent the HB59is typically used on applications where vent waste must be contaas is common with hazardous media or EPA-targeted hydrocarbo

    Bleed Valves

    • HB24/25/26/27 Series Bleed ValveAvailable individually, or optionally threaded into an unused outport on a variety of Hex Valve models. Used for bleeding off higpressure media, the HB 24 & 25 incorporate backout stops to preinadvertent removal of the stem; the HB26 allows for stem remofacilitate calibration through the valve; and the HB27 is a bleed vthat uses a mini bonnet, and is the only one with stem packing.

    • HB52 Series Bleed TeeThe HB52 bleed tee is ideal for mod-ernizing outdated, non-bleed gaugeinstallations. During instrument main-tenance, simply thread the HB52 intothe outlet of an existing block valve.An instrument is then threaded into theHB52 outlet to complete the installation.A second 1/2" side outlet accommodates a gauge or tube fitting foremote auxiliary instrument.

    Gauge Syphons

    • HGSY & HGVS Series Gauge SyphonsThe Hex gauge syphons act as thermaland liquid seal barriers between hotprocess vapors (such as steam andheat transfer fluids) and the gaugepressure instrument. It is designedto replace the large installation spacerequirements of the traditional "pigtail" syphon, providing maximinstrument protection in half the space. The HGVS, on Hex gaugvalve syphon includes an integral shutoff valve.

    MANIFOLD VALVES Gauge/Absolute Pressure Manifolds

    Single Instrument

    • HM50 Series Static Pressure ManifoldA single flanged static pressure mani-fold that incorporates a primary blockvalve, a secondary shutoff valve and ableed valve into a single valve assem-bly. The secondary shutoff and bleedvalve also allows the gauge and trans-mitter to be vented and/or removed without requiring additional valv-ing. This feature provides a separate instrument vent and calibrationentry port facilitating fast, accessible, zero and calibration of gaugepressure transmitters. The HM50 features a threaded inlet and flanged

    outlet, allowing the transmitter to bolt directly to the manifold.

    • HM59 Series Static Pressure ManifoldThe HM59 is a line-mounted two valve manifold that functions as ashutoff and vent valve for static pres-sure instrumentation. The HM59 Seriesprovides a low cost, easy-to-install unitthat performs the same functions tradi-tionally performed by a number of pip-ing components. The HM59 provides

    separate instrument bleed and a calibration entry port to allow for fast,accessible zeroing and calibration of gauge pressure transmitters. Theuse of the HM59 Series also reduces the number of threaded connec-tions, resulting in fewer potential leak points.

    • HM20 Series Instru-Mount ManifoldThe HM20 Series manifold combines shutoff and vent functions, alongwith separate calibration access intoone compact, well supported unit thatcan be mounted on a 2" pipe stand.

    Emissions are reduced because allvalves are integral to the barstock body,thereby eliminating externally threadedvent valves as supplied on other manifold designs.

    MANIFOLD VALVES Gauge/Absolute Pressure Manifolds

    Dual Instrument

    • HM40 Series Instru-Mount ManifoldThe HM40 Series is a double instru-ment-mount manifold that allows twoGP instruments to be mounted onone assembly. The HM40 reducesthe number of components and leakpoints associated with conventionalstatic pressure instrument valve assemblies. The piping configurationis simplified by combining the functions of block and vent, as well aproviding vent/calibration access in a single, remote mounted blockstyle manifold.

    MANIFOLD VALVES Differential Pressure/Flow Manifolds Equalizing Manifolds

    • HE30 Series Equalizing ValveA three-valve equalizing manifold that isa compact and cost effective alternativeto the more costly five-valve manifold.Use the HE30 Series if the meter isclosely mounted to the primary element.

    • HE40 Series Equalizing ManifoldHex equalizing manifolds providean easy method to zero transmit-ters for users with separate, primaryvalves close by. The HE40 allows for ahorizontal handle orientation with 1/2"FNPT or tube nut connections.

    • HE44 Series Equalizing ManifoldThe HE44 Series has a streamlinedbody to mount between the transmitterand the futbol flanges that are normallysupplied with the transmitter. It featuresa backseated, inside rising stem with achoice of a needle or non-rotating tip.The smaller body and use of transmitter futbol flanges make this a veconomical selection.

    MANIFOLD VALVES Differential Pressure/Flow

    Three Valve Manifolds

    • HM45 Series In-Line ManifoldThe HM45 is a general purpose instru-ment manifold designed for connectingdifferential pressure transmitters toimpulse line tubing. Connectors are 1/2"NPT on industry standard 2-1/8" center-to-center dimensions (models for 2-3/16"& 2-1/4" center-to-center dimensions are also available).

    • HM46 Series In-Line Manifold with VentThe same design as the HM45, but alsoincorporating a vent valve allowing atechnician to perform instrument bleedor blowdown procedures. Both modelsprovide one compact valve assembly toperform the block and equalizing func-tions required to calibrate your instruments. They feature backseated, insiderising stem construction to prevent accidental stem removal and to isolatethe packing from the process. For added protection, the bonnets are pinnedto prevent inadvertent removal.

    • HM53 Series Single Flanged ManifoldThe HM53 is a three valve manifold usedto perform the block, equalizing andvent requirements of differential pres-sure transmitter applications. The singlemounting flange allows the transmitter tobolt directly to the manifold, eliminatingthe piping of excess tubing and nipples. A mounting kit may also be speci-fied to allow for installation to a pipe stand.

    • HM54 Series Double Flanged ManifoldThe HM54 is a double flanged instru-ment manifold that is used to perform theblock, equalizing and vent requirementsof differential pressure transmitters. Forcompact, close-coupled installations, themanifold bolts directly to the instrumentand can be mated directly to the orifice flange using futbol flanges andshort nipples. For remote installation, tube adaptors are used with futbolsmaking the installation similar to the HM53.

    Five Valve Blowdown Manifolds

    • HM56 Series Blowdown ManifoldThe HM56 Series performs theblock and equalizing functions ofa standard three valve manifoldand provides two additional blockvalves to be used for impulse lineblowdown purposes. The designof the HM56 allows the user to install just one compact assemthat eliminates eight nipples, four tees, and two shutoff valveare required for a conventional blowdown valve installation. addition, the HM56 incorporates a single flange, which enabl

    the installer to mount the transmitter directly to the mountingflange.

    • HM55 Series Blowdown ManifoldThe HM55 Series performs theblock and equalizing functions ofa standard three valve manifoldand provides two additional blockvalves to be used for impulse lineblowdown purposes. The HM55is identical to the HM56 except both the process and instrumconnections are threaded for in-line installations.

    MANIFOLD VALVES Five Valve Manifolds (Double Equalizer with Vent/Test)

    • HM57 Series Metering ManifoldThe HM57 Series combines twoshutoff valves, two equalizingvalves, and a vent/calibration valveinto a single, compact assembly.The double equalizing arrange-ment insures against measurementerror than can occur from equalizerleakage between high and low pressure connections, making HM57 ideal for custody transfer applications.

    • HM77 Series Metering Manifolds

    The HM77 Series is similar tothe HM57 except for the use of alarger 3/8" bore and with soft seats.This larger bore reduces pulsationinduced spikes to the transmitter.Note: ratings are 1500 psig @ 100°F(103 bar @ 38°c) and500 psig @ 200°F (34,5 bar @ 93°C).

    MANIFOLD VALVES Differential Pressure/Level

    • HM58 Series Level ManifoldThe HM58 Series manifolds aresimplified, lower cost alternatives totraditional manifolds used on D/Plevel installations. The HM58 allowsthe user to construct a level installa-tion with minimum components. This method eliminates the need fortubing, fittings, instrument pipe stands and their associated installa-tion costs. With a universal design, the HM58 can be used for ventedor closed tank, bottom or top side-mounted installations or for tanktop mounted bubbler installations.

    Natural Gas Measurement Valves

    • HE30 Series Equalizing ValveA three-valve equalizing manifoldthat is a compact and cost effec-tive alternative to the more costlyfive-valve manifold. Delrin or Teflonsoft seats valves insure redundantequalizer isolation, eliminating thepossibility of costly leaks there, or through the vent/calibrate valve

    • HM57 Series Metering ManifoldThe HM57 Series combines two

    shutoff valves, two equalizingvalves, and a vent/calibration valveinto a single, compact assembly.The double equalizing arrange-ment insures against measurementerror than can occur from equalizer leakage between high and lowpressure connections, making the HM57 ideal for custody transferapplications.

    • HN41 Series Instrument ValveA straight-thru design with a Delrinseat, which provides bidirectionalflow and the ability to "rod-out" thevalve for cleaning. These valves arespecifically targeted for the oil andgas industry and are available onlyin 316 Stainless Steel per NACEMR-01-75.

    Natural Gas Measurement Valves

    • SpringTiteTM Stabilized Mounting SystemThe SpringTiteTM Stabilized MountingSystem represents the next generation ofclose-coupled, DP flow systems. It offersthree distinct advantages over traditionalstabilized direct mount support platforms:

    1. Fixed, easy torque loading: Wheninstalling traditional stabilized systems, the stabilizer load torque isregulated by the installer with a torque wrench following guidelinesfrom the installation manual. SpringTiteTM Systems come with thepatent pending SpringTite Torque Ring System to insure consistentstabilizer loading torque, without the need for a torque wrench. Aftertightening the stabilizer in the orice tap, simply raise the stabilizerpad (or bracket) with a wrench until it "Springs Tite" against the stabi-lized connector. When you can make no further turns your stabilizersare secure, with identical torque loads on each.

    2. Independent stabilizer height adjustment: Conventional stabilizedmounting systems require the installer to tighten each stabilizer inorder to: a) seal the threaded tap, b) insure mounting ange parallel-ism, and c) to adjust ange height. Getting all three accomplished byadjusting the height of a threaded connector takes a lot of trial anderror which can stress the stabilizer and orice tap threads, increasing

    the probability of galling and resultant leaks. This is especially truewith difcult to align orice ange union installations. Hex Measure-ment's SpringTiteTM system eliminates this problem. Our patentpending two piece o-ring stabilizer option provides a unique featurethat allows users to level the connector ange without disturbing thethreaded connector. See an illustrated detail on page 3.

    3. Higher Safety Load Factors: The broad foot print, and the loaddispersion technique employed by the SpringTiteTM system providethe design with a superior load carrying capacity, able to absorbloads creating bending movements of 175 ft-lbs.. This is more than

    enough to support any isolation manifold, multiple adaptor plates,and all manifold and meter arrangements, irrespective of orientation.Competitive design load descriptions are confusing and are typicallyonly rated to handle a maximum of 150 foot pounds.

    Sample & Tank Bottom Drain Valves

    • HS31 Series Steam Jacketed Sample ValveThe steam jacketed HS31 samplevalve is a solution to routine ordifficult sampling problems. It isused to extract a fresh sample whileproviding tight shutoff, high pressureand temperature capabilities, and areciprocating stem that unplugs the sample section as it opens.

    The steam-jacketed option is typically used on viscous liquids, ries and products that tend to solidify when cooled or exposed normal ambient conditions.

    Air and Gas Distribution Manifolds

    • HA Series Distribution ManifoldThe HA Series is a soft seated multi-valve manifold that allows you toconnect one air/gas source to theinlet for distribution up to twelveseparate work stations. If additionalwork stations are required, simplyattach another HA06 with nipples. The HA Series is used in pla

    of conventional methods for the distribution of plain air and pugases and feature o-ring seals and backseated bonnets to insureagainst stem leakage when the valves are fully open.

    • PM45/46/51/53/54 Series Differential PressureHex Valve produces a complete line ofthree valve instrument manifolds whichcombines two block valves and oneequalizing valve in a single compactassembly.

    PM45/46 for in-line, thread-by-thread,installations

    PM53 single flanged for mounting to a remotely located differentialpressure transmitter

    PM54 double flanged for direct mounting to the orifice flange or forremote transmitter locations

    PM51 direct mounted compact wafer valve

    • PM50 Series Two Static PressureThe PM50 combines a primary blockvalve, a bleed valve, and a secondaryshutoff valve into one small unit. Withthe integral secondary shutoff valve anda bleed valve (not integral), the gaugeand transmitter can be removed or bledwithout requiring additional valving. The PM50 features a threaded

    inlet and flanged outlet, allowing the transmitter to bolt directly to themanifold.

    • PM75 Series Differential PressureThe PM75 is designed for remotemounting of differential pressuretransmitters and includes two isolationvalves, one test valve, and two test/ purge valves. The manifold can bemounted via pipe stand or instrument

    rack. The 1/2" process connection is located on bottom of manifold andinstrument connection is located on back.

    P OWER VALVES (Valves and manifolds in accordance with ANSI B31/B3 Manifolds

    • PM76 Series Differential PressureThe PM76 is similar to the PM75 but isdesigned for direct mounting to trans-mitter by unique design. The compactdesign eliminates the requirements foradditional tubing or piping from mani-fold to transmitter.

    • PM13 & 16 Series Rigid MountThe PM13 (3 Valve) and PM16(5Valve) mount directly to the pipestand securing the impulse lines sothe transmitter can be installed orremoved independently of the piping.

    On new installations, all the pipingcan be completed prior to the arrival of the instruments. Installatioremoval is fast and easy, taking less time than with conventional trmitter mounting. When the transmitter is removed, tubing and manremain rigidly in place.

    P OWER VALVES (Valves and manifolds in accordance with ANSI B31/B31.3) Primary, Gauge, Block & Bleed, Needle

    • PG65 Series Orifice Block ValveThe PG65 Series block valve isdesigned for compact side-by-sidemounting on orifice flanges and orificesettings, as well as for use with con-densate chambers, mercury traps, andseal traps. The slim design enablesside-by-side mounting on 2-1/8"centers without staggering the valves with unequal length nipples asrequired with other valves. This valve provides two outlet ports for useas impulse line connections, pressure gauge mounting or level gaugemounting.

    • PG46/47/48 Series Gauge/ Block Valves

    The PG46 Series features the back-seated OS&Y bolted bonnet, while thePG48 is supplied with a backseated screwed bonnet.

    The PG47 provides a full port and unrestricted flow, which allows theuse of a rod-out tool. Note: there is a pressure limitation of 1500 psi @-20°F to 100°F (103 bar @ 29°C to 38°C) regardless of material.

    • PN49/PB59 Series Needle/Bleed ValveThe PN49 Series is a fully packed nee-dle valve for high pressure and hightemperature applications. Produced ina wide variety of inlet and outlet sizes.

    For critical services, the PB59 blockand bleed valve features a fully packedand backseated block valve along with a fully packed integral bleevalve.
