Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit Christian housing ministry dedicated to building simple, decent and affordable homes with and for low-income families.

About Us…

The homes are sold for no profit and no interest and the mortgage payments are used to build more homes.

Partnering families typically have mortgage payments between $500-550/month.

Habitat for Humanity of South Central Minnesota formed in 1989. Habitat believes that we can accomplish more working together that we can working alone. HFHSCMN has built 89 homes and Affiliates include: ◦ Greater Mankato Area◦ St. Peter ◦ Le Sueur-Henderson◦ Watonwan County

About Us

Abdi is a hard-working husband and father of three. He met his wife at South Central College. He has had a tough time finding affordable housing for his family.

He came to Habitat for hope of affordable housing and a decent home for his family to grow up in.

He and his wife have already worked 80 hours. He and his wife are ready for the challenge of completing their 400 required hours of “sweat equity.”

Elvia Hanson and her two daughters live in a Habitat home at 205 Rogers St. in Mankato. The Hanson family shared a home with another family before being selected for a new Habitat home.

Chelsea, 13, was excited about her new home.

She said, “I’m excited for our house because it will just be my family there…it will be more peaceful.”

Committee Positions Needed

Committee will:◦ Prepare board members for involvement in Resource

Development◦ Take the Board’s annual budget and create a

comprehensive fund development plan that includes target sources and amounts, dates and assignments

◦ Work w/ treasurer to ensure that processes are in place for donor recognition, IRS substantiation, and categorized record keeping by source of income and donor

◦ Request an annual budget from the Board of Directors for any necessary expenses

◦ Set up appropriate work groups to handle efforts with churches, individuals, businesses, financial institutions, fraternal organizations, civic groups, foundations, etc.

◦ Seek a list of in-kind donations desired by the building committee and develop strategies to meet those needs

Intro into Adopt-A-Home Program

By considering to undertake a Habitat Adopt-A-Home project, the committee is helping organizations take on an exciting task: raising money to finance a Habitat home, and building that home in partnership with the family who will own it.

It is a task that will be both challenging and rewarding. Most importantly, it is a task that will make a lasting positive impact on the community.

Sponsorship Agreement Sponsor agrees to;
