purpose. Phenomé’s products are
manufactured in line with specific
recommendations and standards devel-
oped by international bodies that
certify natural and organic cosmetics.

formulation, whereas Phenomé’s

• Organic certification means that the
raw materials we use to manufacture
Phenomé’s cosmetics are derived from
plants that have been grown without
chemical fertilizers, fungicides, herbi-
cides, and pesticides. None of the raw
materials we use come from genetically
modified plants.
• We only use ingredients other than
natural ones if no effective counterpart
of natural origin can be found to replace
them. These ingredients are accepted
by the certification bodies and are
entered in the lists of cosmetic ingredi-
ents approved for use in the manufac-
ture of organic cosmetic products.
• Pure plant-derived ingredients have a
long-term, in-depth effect on the skin
even though they rarely produce the
immediate, spectacular results that are
visible after first use. Cosmetic products

Plant waters bring the power of plants to Phenomé’s formulaes
• The parameters of plant water are
similar to the chemical composition of
natural body fluids. Plant water, because
of its affinity with the skin and its physi-
ology, plant water is able to penetrate
into the skin cells more effectively than
mineral or distilled water, which is
commonly used as a base for cosmetic
products.
• As a base for cosmetic products plant
waters are, therefore, much more
valuable than pure water. Moreover,
they are perfectly safe for people with
sensitive skin prone to allergies.
• The wealth of precious ingredients
contained in plant juices, and their
unique properties, have drawn the
attention of many scientists searching
for new, natural ingredients that can be
incorporated into cosmetic formula-
tions.

Biocompatibility of plant water and body fluids
• According to Claude Bernard’s
concept of homeostasis, a stable
internal environment is essential for all
living organisms. The greater the
similarity between extracorporeal and
body fluids, the less disturbance the
former are likely to cause in the
human organism.
• According to the concept of home-
ostatis, biological compatibility which
governs any exchange between the
external and the internal environment
of a cell depends on the degree of
similarity between the extracellular
and the intracellular fluids.
This similarity can be assessed based on
specific criteria used in bioelectronics:
» the pH value which describes the
degree of alkalinity/acidity of a solution;
» the rh value which describes the
electric potential of a solution
» electrical resistance.
• Fluids that are highly biocompatible
with body fluids (such as tears) have pH
values below 7, average rh values, and
an electrical resistance of less than

• Although plant water contains many
more active substances than homeo-
pathic preparations, the quantities are
still very small. How then is it possible
for plant water to have such an amaz-
ing effect on the cells of the human
skin?
• Tests have shown that despite the
very low concentrations of active
ingredients, thanks to its appropriate
bioelectric parameters, plant water is
far more biologically active than
distilled water which is commonly
used in the cosmetic formulations of
many of the brands available on the
market. Furthermore, if plant water is
used as a vehicle for an active ingredi-
